Ananya and Rishi went to a reputed gynecologist after 2 days of the test. Rishi was on cloud nice, while Ananya kept her cool, because she was taking it as it came. The gynecologist was a middle-aged man, reputed for his work. His patients recommended him wherever they went. He was known to put them at ease. He was fatherly, and caring, despite his young age.
The doctor, Abhijit Ghosh, called for the next patient, and both Rishi and Ananya walked in happily. He welcomed them warmly. He smilingly asked, "First time parents? Or trying to conceive?"
Rishi smiled radiantly, "Already expecting. We checked at home...". Dr Ghosh nodded.
"Your name?"Then consulted the paper given by the nurse, and said, "Aah Ananya..." He asked her to lie down, and ran a regular check through her body. After which he suggested they both go in with him to the sonography room. He connected some cables, and within a minute a screen lit up. He then said, "Mr. Rishi Jain, Ananya, both of you look up there." and pointed at the screen. Within less than two minutes, they could see a small unrecognizable structure. Then Dr. Ghosh spoke, "see there... do you see this round part. That is the small head of your small baby." Even before he spoke anything else Rishi held Ananya's hand tight and soaked in the beauty of nature. "Wow" he gasped. He ran to the screen and ran his hand on it, as if trying to feel his baby. Then he came back, and touched Ananya's tummy, and tried to feel the baby. Dr. Ghosh said, "Relax Rishi. Your wife's pregnancy is less than 6 weeks old. You cannot feel a baby's movements before 5th or 6th month." Rishi looked a tad disappointed.
They then walked out of the room, and came back and sat with the doctor. He was explaining the dos and don'ts to the first time pregnant couple. Even as he was speaking, Ananya's eyes wandered to a wall mounted picture. She was not sure, but she thought she saw Vishesh in it. She wanted to ask, but dared not to, for the fear of hurting Rishi and also because she was worried she will travel back in time and repeat her past mistakes. Oh, she suddenly missed Vishesh. She was shaken back to time, when Dr. Ghosh said, "Ananya...are you listening?" She nodded... "Err...Yes! I will take care of all that you said, thank you doctor." He gave them a file, and a list of medicines to take. He had prescribed folic acid and calcium tablets to her.
Rishi and Ananya left from there. Just as they reached home, Ananya had an uncontrolled urge to puke, and she rushed to the bathroom, and threw up. Just as the doctor had said, she had bad pangs of sickness for the next few days. She used to have a tough time at work due to this. Now she decided to quit work on account of pregnancy.
Ananya went to office the next day, and spoke to her manager about her plans of quitting. She told him she was expecting, and would like to give her entire time and dedication to motherhood and family. Her manager was okay with it, and with a heavy heart, accepted her resignation. They decided she would have to serve a notice period of 1 month and then she was good to go.
Another few days went by, and her work was much lesser now that her last working day was almost approaching. One morning, suddenly, her vomiting stopped. She was relieved. Finally she felt good about her pregnancy, because the vomiting instances made her sick.
It was her last working today. She left home with a heavy heart because she had loved this job a lot. It was a long time that she spent here, and loved the people and the place. Rishi dropped her today, and left for his work. Ananya was welcome by everyone, some came with a farewell gift, someone gave her flowers, some wished verbally. She liked the attention. She felt a little uneasy, and walked up to the restroom. She saw some blood as she got up from the commode. She dismissed it as unimportant. After her team lunch and a celebration, she used the restroom again. This time also she saw blood. This worried her. She immediately came out, and made a call to Rishi. He assured her he would pick her up in few minutes.
