Mr Henries told him to take a seat and continued with the register.
He made his way over to my desk and shoved my bag off of the chair next to me, it's contents spilling out underneath the desk, he sat down.
"For god sake" I muttered leaning down to grab my things, "what are you doing here?"
"Well hello to you too Amelia" he smiled.
The bell for 1st period rang before I could reply. I stood up and threw my rucksack over my shoulder. My first lesson was Math, what a waste of my time.
I walked into 5A one of the Maths classrooms and took a seat in front of Mrs Anderson's desk. She stood up from her desk and, after a quick hello to the class, started to teach the lesson. I zoned out after she mentioned something about differentiation and exponentials and my mind started to wonder.
I recalled all of last nights events, Harry, Louis, Jasper...
I don't want to believe that Paul isn't my biological father. I don't want to believe that my mum wouldn't tell me who my real father is. But with the reaction from my mother at the mention of his name 'Jasper Carter' it was becoming more and more possible that it was true. I decided to push it to the back of my mind and try and focus on the lesson, telling myself that I would confront my mother about the topic when I got home.
Morning lessons went agonisingly slowly, and I was more than happy when I heard the bell for lunch. I walked over to my locker which was situated next to Maya's and also happened to be our 'meeting spot' for breaks and lunches. I put away my bag, and started to flick through my phone as I waited for Maya to come from Art.
"Boo" I heard a deep voice from behind me. I tensed up, being too focused on my phone I hadn't heard anyone's footsteps. I turned around and relaxed when I saw the familiar face of Nate, Maya's brother. His honey blonde hair was sat messily on his head and his blue eyes were glistening as he chuckled at my reaction.
"God how many times do I have to tell you, don't sneak up on me" I say whilst laughing.
"You're just too easy to sneak up on, you would've thought for an assassin you'd have better hearing" he grins
My eyes widen slightly "Nate you can't just say that out loud" I whisper shouted.
This made him laugh, "sorry assassin"
I slapped his arm and tried not to smile. Nate had to be one of my closest friends, I had trained with him for the past 6 months and he was a perfect sparring partner, our battles were always close. He had made me stronger and therefore better at my job.
"Ew what are you doing here?" Maya muttered, walking up to where me and Nate were stood. She was glaring at her brother, they got on occasionally but clearly today wasn't one of the occasions.
Nate glanced at Maya and rolled his eyes "just leaving don't worry sis" he replied before heading off in the direction of the lunch hall.
"Why do you even spend time with him?" Maya asked, now turning to face me rather than facing Nate's retreating body.
I shrugged, clearly I couldn't tell her it was because I spent almost everyday for 6 months with him whilst he was trying to help me become a more efficient murderer.
Before she could try and delve any deeper into my friendship with Nate I turned her attentions to going to get lunch. We walked in and grabbed a pasta pot each before paying and heading to an empty table.
