I sighed deeply as I walked through the almost empty park, the only people there where a few elderly couples and one or two dog walkers. Then I saw her. A girl sat on one of the benches. A beautiful girl who was staring at me? When we made eye contact I smiled at her and she looked confused.
Usually I would walk away and try and forget all about any type of communication made throughout the day but something was drawing me to this girl. Slowly, I made my way up to her. As I got closer I grew nervous. What the hell? What are you doing? Don't talk to her! Don't talk to the pretty girl! The voice in my head scolded. You don't even know her. Why aren't you stopping?! Why wasn't I stopping? I can't just go up to a random-
Before I could finish my mental argument I heard my self speak.
"Hello." She still looked confused. Walk away. Just walk away before you embarrass your self. Just leave the poor girl alone.
"You can see me?" What?
"Uh... Yes?" Suddenly, she reached out and grabbed me wrist.
"I can touch you!"
"Umm..." I tried to respond and pull my wrist out of her grip. Damn this girl is freaky strong. She looked down and saw she was still holding my wrist.
"Oh! Sorry." She let go but carried on speaking. "So what's with you?"
"Nothing." I replay defensively. Her pale grey eyes widened.
"Oh! I didn't mean to offend you. It's just, no one ever sees me. I do t know why, they just don't."
"I get that. Everyone ignores me unless  it's to beat the crap out of me." I reply. She sighed.
"That sucks. But I don't mean people ignore me. People don't see me. Like ever. It's like I'm invisible or something."
"Ookay?"
"You don't believe me?" She accused.
"Well I just met you. Plus I can see you."
"I guess that's true. But dosent change the facts. Something must be with you."
"Stop saying that! Anyway. Let's say that I believe you. Nobody can see you except me. How long have you been invisible? Hypothetically, of course." I asked.
"I don't know."
"What? What do you mean you don't know?" I asked. How the hell could she  not know.
"I mean exactly that. I don't know. I don't know what happened to me, where I am from, my age, I don't even know my name. Speaking of which, what's yours?" She asked.
"Kelly. My name is Kelly."
"That's-"
"Yeah I know. It's a chicks name. But I can assure you whatever you say I've already heard it before." I snapped before the teasing could start.
"I was going to say that I'm Gaelic Kelly means warrior."
"Oh. Sorry." I blushed at my outburst. She laughed and it was the most beautiful sound I had heard. She smiled at me.
"So, if you can't remember your name, what do I call you?" I asked.
"What do you want to call me?" She asked, smiling brightly.
"Anything I want?"
"As long as it's flattering." I thought for a bit.
"How about Mallory. Or Mal?"
"Mallory. It's French. It means unfortunate you know."
"No. I didn't know that." I blushed again and she laughed.
"Okay that Mallory it is." She stood up.
"Where are you going?" Why to sound clingy Kels.
"I'll see you around Kelly."
"Promise?"
She gave a breathtaking smile and walked away.
