"Quick, now we only need the core innocence! There are too many akuma here to fight, we must leave ASAP!" Lavi shouted with a hurried voice, trying to reach his message towards the other exorcists.
"I got it! Everyone, ru-" Allen's words were then blocked by a strong light, blinding everyone and pausing their actions.
~~~a few hours ago~~~
Kanda, Lenalee, Allen and Lavi were gathered in the Branch Chief Komui's room, being told their next mission. "Everyone, this is a very important but a dangerous mission. That is why the order decided to send all four of you on this mission," he said, holding out the mission sheet, giving it out to them. "You'll be retrieving the innocence that were left in the old headquarters, but there are a lot of akumas around that area, due to our last fight which occurred there."
The four nodded, but a certain redhead found the situation odd and asked, "But how come there are innocence still left on the island? Shouldn't it have been the highest priority?"
Komui sighed and replied, "Yes, you're right, but apparently nobody realized that Hevlaska and the innocence inside her could not have been transported here without help." His head lowered, almost about to bang his head on the table.
All of the exorcists looked down, mentally face-palming themselves.
The flashing light soon disappeared and what was left were only the exorcists. No akuma, just the five exorcists. Wait, fi-
"Is everyone alright?!" Lenalee asked, looking around to assess the situation.
"Tsk, what was that light?" Kanda blinked and looked around, checking that there were no more annoying akuma to fight.
"Yu-chan! Lenalee! Allen! Are you all alive?!" A red hair shouted, far from the others.
"Yes," a quiet reply came from the white-haired boy, who was on one knee and grabbing his aching head. "What happened? Where did the akuma go?" he said standing up.
"Allen-kun, what- who is that?" Lenalee asked, pointing at a small blob of ragged, checkered cloth and crimson-brown.
"Huh? What-" Allen stopped talking as soon as he saw the blob, realizing that it was a..
"Oh my god! Is that a child?!" Lavi shouted, running towards the 'child' now. "He has scratches and blood all over his body! Did we do this??" he shouted in panic as he held the boy up.
"No, I doubt so. There is no way a normal child could be in, or even around the old headquarters. I mean, first of all, it's a stranded island, which is shot up so high that it almost touches the sky, and there is no way to climb up," Allen proclaimed.
"But Allen, you climbed up the first time you came here, didn't you?" Lavi mentioned, looking questionably at the whitette.
"Yes, well, I was not as young as this child currently, now am I?" he replied, a little bit frustrated at Lavi.
"Quit the babbling, are we going to help it or not?!" Kanda shouted at the two angrily, mentally face-palming.
"For once Kanda is the one to stop an argument," Lenalee said, snatching the small figure away from Lavi and standing up. "We gathered all the innocence and there is a kid who could use some serious help, so stop being such boys and lets leave," Lenalee spat, wondering how there is always a sort of argument between these three at a critical moment.
"You're right, I'm sorry. We should return and treat his wounds," Allen apologized and started opening up the ark. Soon, a ray of white light appeared in front of them, slowly widening and then, the door of the ark opening up, transparent wall of light settling on the ground.
"Let's go," Lenalee claimed and walked into the light, carrying the young child in her arms. She disappeared into the light, and so did the others, all following her lead, each with ragged clothes and messy hair, dirt all over their whole figure.
