I woke up in Court's arms his soft snores were all I could hear. I ran my hand softly up and down his biceps. I smiled when he opened his eyes "Morning sleepy." I whispered kissing his face "Morning beautiful." He yawned pulling me closer to him and into a earth shattering kiss.
"I want to sleep in!" I sighed resting my head on his chest "We can't. I gotta get my pups trained and ready for war." His chest rattled with every word his inner wolf was coming out to play today. I had to omit the longing I had that one day my own wolf would emerge. I quickly focused my thoughts on my mate that was drifting back to sleep. I placed my hands on his warm cheeks and brought my head down to his mouth for a long sweet kiss. "Alright I'll get up." He grumbled lifting me up as well as himself. I squealed wrapping my arms around his neck "What! Are y-" his lips cut off my sentence. The tingling sensation I felt wherever he touched me almost sent me over the edge. "We have a while before everyone gets up." He whispered in my ear before leaving a trail of kisses from my ear to my collarbone where he marked me. The sound of my mates voice in my ear and the kisses he continued to mark me with left my thoughts a little hazy so I threw words out the door and smashed my lips onto his. His grip on my body tightened and he turned back to the bed.

After our very eventful morning I finally managed to get him out of bed and onto the training field. He only wore his black basket ball shorts as did most of the other trainees. I myself wore black spandex shorts and a gray muscle tank top. "Looking good." Court mind linked me when I decided to join him on the field. I let him go out before me so he could do his Alfa thing while I pep talk myself into going even though I can't do what basic pups can do because I lost my wolf. "Thanks." I blushed because now the men of the pack were all staring at me. As if sensing my discomfort Court directed all attention back to him by address the large crowd. "A war is coming! Whether it is rouges or the hunters we must FIGHT if we want to live freely!" Loud sounds of approval erupted from the crowd. I smiled at my brave men that have and will fight for our freedom. "We have been lucky enough to not have to fight for years now but recent events have proved to be a threat to our pack and now what I, as your Alfa, as your friend, want to know is WHO will fight with me?" In unison every single man stepped forward with expressions of utter respect and love. "Then let's train!" Court yelled loving every moment. I searched the field for my children and found them playing with the other pups their age. "Hey! Baby!" I turned around to the sound of Nixon's voice she was in the mist of running into my arms before I could respond. "Hey honey." I squeezed her back it felt like forever since I've last seen her because she's been watching over Remy for me all day every day. Remy stepped out of the porch door and waved to me as Nixon and I broke apart. She grinned happily "It took some convincing but I got him to come out and train with us." I turned to her in shock "Nix but it's burning up out here will you be okay to train?" She scowled at me "Yes mother! I put double the amount of sunscreen on and I also don't exactly hate the sun if you remember correctly, it just slightly irritates me like a mosquito in ones ear." She shrugged chuckling as we turned to where everyone was currently pairing up to combat fight in human form. My speciality! I grinned widely when I saw that my last years trainees are doing so awesome at everything I taught them. Although our pack hasn't had to fight in years we still train as hard and as vigorously as if we were already in a war. "Do you two mind if I just sit back and watch?" Remy asked looking anxiously at my fierce pack. "No, not at all." I checked his face to see if he was in any type of pain or exhausted from the medication we've had him on. Picking the latter I pointed out a clear spot in the grass for him to watch from.
When I turned around Nixon was grinning at me "It's been way too long grasshopper." She said circling me "Yes it has." I said playing along making sure I keep my distance from her hands and most importantly feet.
"Ready?" She teased getting in the position to fight me "Yes." I said preparing myself and before I knew it she was racing toward me at inhuman speed. I quickly spun out of the way just missing her punch by an inch. "Oh so it's like that huh?" I mocked running at her and jumped at her unexpectedly forcing her to the ground. "Yup." She laughed managing to get her leg between our bodies and kicked me far from her. "Shit.." I wheezed when I landed on my back a few feet away from where she was standing now. I scrambled to get up before she got to me but unfortunately for me she has vampire speed and was upon me in a split second. She swung a mean right hook at me that I blocked with my forearm. She took the opportunity to hit me in my left rib cage. I laughed and smirked to her confusion "Weak spot." I said before smashing my foot onto hers she cried out and I got a clear spot to swipe her legs from under her. She hit the ground with an huff I quickly leaned over her "You've taught me well." She grinned and held up her hand, I helped her up and we dusted off and watched everyone continue their combat lesson. "It's just like old times." She smiled at me from beside Remy, we sat on the ground watching the young and old train. "It is." I smiled lovingly at Court from across the field. He was helping a young boy, around eight, work on his defense technique.
"Beta do you mind if I ask you a question?" Remy asked nervously twisting a blade of grass between his fingers.
"Depends.." I replied, Nixon looked up at me with a stern look
"Fine. Not at all Remy." I glared at Nixon but she just smiled.
We sat in silence while Remy gathered his thoughts
"Okay, don't hate me but no one ever told me how or why you left. I wasn't ever allowed to leave dad's side much less leave pack territory, father would always say that it was dangerous out there and that's why we all..I thought you were dead."
He wouldn't look up at me.
"What?" I asked, I felt like I couldn't breathe.
"I'm sorry I shouldn't have brought anything up but I just had to know how you came into this amazing pack." He sounded so hurt and nervous. The sister that he once knew the one that ran away had died a long time ago.
"Okay Remy, you deserve some answers and as your older sister I'll be the one to tell you." At my words he looked up and I swear I saw the little boy I left behind all those years ago in him.
"Where to begin..the day my life shattered."
