Chapter 3

"Mmm it smells amazing in here." Court complimented our chefs and the members that helped set everything up.
"Thanks Alfa. We have enough chairs to sit at least a hundred or so people." the head chef Lisa beamed as we heard the door bell ring. I began to get nervous I hope they like us because even though we're a big and feared pack we need allies in case of a rogue war. "Breathe." Court whispered trailing his fingers down a strand of my hair.
"It's just dinner." He reassured and turned the door knob to greet our guest. "Hello! Welcome to the Beckon territory." Court greeted stepping aside to let them enter our home.
"It's very nice to meet you Alfa Beckon." Cason said locking eyes with me.
"This is Beta your lovely hostess for the evening and my mate." Court slipped his hand into mine and we led them into the kitchen.
"I hope everything is to your liking." Lisa sat everyone down and we were served a gourmet meal that should've been served in a five star restaurant. I cut my medium rare steak into squares before forking pieces into my mouth. "So tell me about yourself Alfa Cason." Court started the conversation.
"Oh I'm not the Alfa, our Alfa is away on business but he sends his apologizes for his absence." Cason looked down at his plate.
"Are you alright?" Cason turned to me referring to my seizure.
"I'm fine thank you for asking." I politely answered.
"What a lovely home you have here Alfa Beckon." A black haired girl said from beside me she resembled Snow White.
"Thank you we do try." Court smiled politely catching my eye slyly.
"It's just so big." She said slowly as her eyes trailed down his body tilting her head to the side. I found myself wanting to rip her head right off her neck. "Phoebe." Cason whispered harshly and tried to kick her leg underneath the table but failed and instead kicked my leg hard causing my drink to spill all over me.
"Shit!" He muttered jumping up to tend to my wounded shin only to have Court stop him "It's alright I'm fine." I smiled willing Court not to start something.
"I'm so sorry." Cason apologized again once he was seated. I stood and excused myself to freshen up.
"I'll be right back." I whispered in court's ear he grinned and mind linked me to hurry back.
I rushed to my room and for the third time today changed into a different outfit. I stared at my closet only to have the one dress I vowed never to put on my body come into view. I don't have any other dressy clothes so I had no choice put to wear the dress that should be on the runway not in my closet. I can hear Nixon's voice right now saying try it on, I surrendered and stripped off my clothes and put on my cliche tight black dress and fixed a small salmon colored belt onto my mid section. I ran my hand down the front of the dress and admired the curves that I've grown to love.
"Come quick someone just showed up!" Trixie mind linked me. I took one last look at myself and smiled because Nixon was right I look damn hot in this tight dress.
Once I stepped down from the last stair step Court rushed over to me "Beta I'd like you to meet the real Alfa of the watergate pack." I extended my hand to the man in front of me who until now was checking out someone in the dining room "It's nice to meet you Beta." he said turning his head to look at me.
Shock ran through my veins then fear before I could stop Jaxon he shook my hand and my hand felt like it had been jolted by electricity.
He knew then who I was and the look on his face said it all I was still his horrible soulmate.
"Well, let's get back to dinner." Court took my hand from Jaxon's and laced his fingers through my tingling hand.
"That dress was Nixon's idea wasn't it?" he asked when we sat down. I giggled at his apparent lust filled brown eyes.
"It was my idea indeed my Alfa friend." Nixon grinned from the doorway of the dining room. I jumped up and ran to her "Baby!!" I cried and picked her up she wrapped her short legs around my waist. The whole pack broke out in grins and greeted our long lost friend Nixon.
"What the hell is a vampire doing here?" Jaxon stood up glaring at me.
Court growled and pulled me closer to him and Nixon.
"Nixon is apart of our pack because she is Beta's eternal best friend." Trixie said laughing and pulled a seat out for Nixon "Come here babe and tell me what's up." we sat down and listened to Nixon's tales of life traveling the world.
It was apparent that Jaxon's pack was uncomfortable with the presence of a vampire but seriously she is 5'6 and the sweetest, badass vampire ever.
"Ameri can I talk to you?" Jaxon whispered extremely low.
I stopped spooning beans into my mouth "What did you call me?" I growled had he not heard my pack call me beta I hate my real name it reminds me of my past with father and Sebastian. "Er I mean Beta." he corrected himself and pleaded with his eyes. "I have Luna duties to do after dinner so no we can't talk." I answered back just as quietly.
He opened his mouth to continue but the sound of the front door slamming shut stopped him.
"Mommy?!" Two tiny toddlers came running into the dining room straight onto my lap. "Tanner and Addison!" Trixie swooned and they ran to her "Aunt Trixie!" they screamed happily
I turned to Mr. Beckon, Court's father.
"You hyped them on sugar and brought them home huh?" I asked already knowing the answer. He grinned "What are grandpas for?" That had our whole pack laughing hysterically because we know the old geezer loaded them with sugar.
"Thank goodness they're werewolves and they'll burn most of it off before bedtime or I'd kicked your butt." I threatened through a happy smile. It's been weeks since I've seen Nixon and Mr. Beckon having them here right now for the longest dinner ever is a bit overwhelming.
"I'll go get the kids settled in their room. I've fed them already." He gathered Addison into his arms and tried to go after Tanner but the little boy ducked under my legs "I wanna stay with mommy, daddy, and Nixie!" he pleaded.
"Take Addi I got Tanner." I smiled down at the blonde haired boy who stole my heart with one smile.
"Come here son." Court lifted Tanner from me and all the watergate girls practically oozed jealousy towards me. I dared to glance at Jaxon who was whispering into the girls ear that was flirting with Court earlier, Phoebe.
I turned my head only to lock eyes with Cason he didn't return the smile I gave him. I shrugged it off most guys don't like to think about young couples with kids especially twin toddlers.

The rest of dinner went by smoothly I completely blocked out whatever Jaxon said and focused on my son and Court. Tanner was sleeping in my arms as I escorted the new pack out to their cars. Many of their members complimented him for being adorable and me in my dress.
I can tell I'm going to like having them around. Court was talking to Cason on the porch I went to walk towards them but was stopped by a warm hand. "Jaxon." I jerked my hand away from his grip.
"Are those your Luna duties?" He gestured to Tanner's sleeping form, referring to my kids. My anger flared "You don't get to talk to me about my kids or being a Luna. I'm not your Luna." I snarled "Thank the goddess." he replied with a smug expression. Jaxon Conner will never ever be the perfect mate.
"Jax! Come on babe." the girl named phoebe yelled at him from one of their cars. He gave me a strange look and stepped closer to me "He looks like you." He stepped backwards away from me and turned all the way around and jogged to his girlfriend. He will never be my perfect mate because Court has my heart.

Court bent to kiss Tanner's head as it lay on my shoulder "I'm so glad that horrible dinner is behind us." He chuckled kissing my cheek and collarbone. "Let's go to sleep." I suggested ready to peel this dress off "Okay I'll go say goodnight to my father and I'll be right in." He jogged in the direction of the east wing while I walked upstairs to my room.
I laid Tanner on my bed so I could set up his bed for him beside ours I tucked his tiny body in and kissed his forehead "I love you." I whispered affectionately stroking his soft blonde hair out of his face.
"Mommy?" Addi whispered sleepily reaching towards me from Court's arms "Come here sweet girl." I took her from him and held her tight loving how she curled into me. I laid her next to Tanner when I knew she was asleep "I love you." I whispered and kissed her head lovingly.
Court unzipped my dress for me and I threw on one of his shirts as pajamas. I gladly slipped off my heels and watched as Court undressed down to his boxers.
We got in bed and turned to face each other "I love you." he whispered and kissed my lips softly.
