I woke from my dream yawning I turned to see that Court wasn't in bed. It was still dark outside and no one was up and about. Instead of mind linking him I got out of bed and went in search of Cason I have a question to ask him. I put on a pair of grey joggers and one of Court's shirts before leaving my room. The hallway was empty and quiet. I wasn't told which room he chose so I used my sense of smell to sniff him out. I smiled when I found his room and was about to knock when the door opened and I came face to face with his sister Marceline. "Oh hi." She said eyeing me for a second "Good morning is Cason around?" I asked giving her a bright smile "He isn't. I'm sorry I don't know when he'll be back." She apologized I nodded and let her get to where ever she was headed. I turned to go find Court.
"Beta!! I need you!!" Nixon's voice scream through my head. I ran in the direction of Remy's room. I opened the door and found my little brother trying to stab my best friend in the heart with a broken table leg. "Put the piece of wood down!" I yelled with all the authority I could muster up "Ameri! This vampire says she knows you and you told her to watch over me!" Remy said turning towards me bringing the wood away from Nixon's heart. "I did Remy, Nixon is the only person who wasn't asleep that I could trust with you." I reasoned coming forward and took the wood from his hand. "If I knew you were a damn slayer I would've declined." Nixon scuffed upset "I will never need the help of a blood sucking abomination." Remy practically spat his evil words at her "No I will not have anyone talk to Nix like that Ever! She is not an abomination! I told her to watch you and she did, as long as you are under my roof you will not raise your hand or voice to her do you understand me?!" I asked anger evident in my voice "Yes." Remy growled unhappily "Get back in bed you need rest." I said I let Nixon lead him to the bed to make sure he was okay. I was just testing him to see if he would protest he didn't, well at least not to my face. "Beta I don't feel safe around a slayer. Even if he is your brother." She harshly whispered once we exited his room.
I bit my lip "I know I'm sorry I had no idea my little brother would become a slayer." I ran my hand through my hair "It's cool I'm just mad he tried to kill me with a table leg. That is so not the death I had in mind." She teased knowing I hate it when she talks of death. "You ma'am need to lighten up." She said placing her arm in the crook of mine and we walked to the kitchen together. The thing I love about Nix is she doesn't dwell to much on the past and it astounds me that she wasn't still angry at Remy for trying to kill her. "Hey beautiful ladies." Vince said coming into the kitchen in only his pajama pants. "Seriously do you ever put on a shirt?" Nixon said taking a bite of her strawberry pop tart "What's the point when I can show off this amazing body?" Vinnie replied doing a weird body roll "An original Channing Tatum we have here ladies and gentlemen." Trixie said walking in behind him every word dripping with sarcasm. "Be nice you two." I said in my motherly voice. "To him? Ha it's physically impossible for me not to taunt him just look at him." Nixon said motioning towards him with her arms "It's a wonder you don't have a boyfriend with that lovely attitude." Vince stated but in mock confusion. "You're one to talk jock boy, why don't you have a girlfriend do you prefer the company of your football teammates?" She retaliated. I couldn't keep a smile off my face "I'm not homosexual." He scoffed red in the face "It's too damn early in the morning for your petty bickering." Trixie said entering the kitchen taking a seat beside us at the table. "Oh babe are you mad that it's not us fighting?" Vince asked pitching her cheek. I laughed when Trixie slapped his hand away "You're so stupid, you know that." She said getting up from her seat and walked out of the kitchen. "What? What did I do this time?" He asked looking at us confused. "Damn the red head is right you are an idiot." Nixon said getting up to follow her "Okay seriously?" He turned to me, I have a weakness for his sad face and he hates being called stupid because he does sports "Ah gees! She likes you dude it's so obvious." I broke down "What Trixie? No. She does?" He babbled "Yeah she does so you should stop flirting with Nix in front of her face." I said warning him about hurting Trixie even more than he already has "Why didn't she ever say anything?" He said lost in thought "I don't know. Why don't you ask her?" I said he nodded and went in search of Trixie. I sighed heavily and ate quickly so I could wake up the kids and go to the park our something. I rounded the corner that led to our bedrooms and saw a note on the kid's door. It read 'To Court and Beta, I have taken the kids out and I'll have them back by three, Love You.' I took the note off the door and went inside my room. I decided to get dressed. I threw on a pair of black leggings a white tank top and tied a black and white flannel shirt to my waist. I slipped on my boots and brushed my hair a few times. My mood took a quick spiral suddenly I was too stricken with sadness to do anything. I instantly knew where Court was and I was feeling what he's feeling. I had to get to him. I walked out of my room in a rush to get down stairs I would shift and get to him faster but my damned wolf is dormant. "H-hey baby." Court said slowly as he walked past me into the house "I was looking for you..Where were you?" I asked knowing the answer "Doing runs with the omegas." He lied, walking away. I stood there dumbfounded he lied to me for the first time since I've known him. I looked around at the finally awakening house I call home. Jaxon's pack members nodded to me when they walked by and into the rooms to start their day. I had to get out of the house. "Good morning Beta." Jaxon said coming out of the kitchen "Good morning Alfa Jaxon." I replied wearing my same happy smile. "Is something wrong?" He asked stepping towards me. "Why would there be anything wrong? I'm fine." I smiled taking my keys to my motorcycle that Nix gave me from the key hook on the wall beside him.
"Okay, I'll see you around." He said walking away back down the hall.
I exited the house in a rush as I made my way to our garage that housed our vehicles. I climbed onto my motorcycle and stuck the key in the ignition before I revved the gas. I balanced myself on it and put on my helmet for safety. When I felt comfortable I squeezed the handle and I went forward gradually until I was riding out of the garage and into the street. I could feel the sun glaring down on my skin as I drove down the streets. My destination is a long abandoned building located downtown.
