"It's gonna be a hot one today in Oceanside, California. The high today is an impressive 97 degrees and this coming week looks like it's going to be even hotter than-"

"Damn this heat wave!" Scarlett groaned while she angrily changed the radio station to one that was playing music. We were driving down the road towards the beach because it was too hot to stay inside, especially since our air conditioner isn't the best.

After Scar parks, we grab everything we need for the beach, find a spot and set up our stuff. I grab the sunscreen and toss it to Scarlett so that she could put it on because she is going to be so burned without it, even though she will still probably be burned either way. After five minutes of putting on sunscreen, Scarlett can finally relax and lay down. I, on the other hand, only needed to put sunscreen on my face and then lied down to relax and tan some.

"Holy shiiiiit!" Scarlett says. Without even having to look I know that she is practically drooling over some guy without a shirt on. "Layla!! Layla look at them!" I just ignore her and move my sunglasses from my head to my face. "LAYLA!" exclaims Scar as she slaps my back, leaving a red hand print.

I quickly turn to face her and smack her arm saying, "Ow! What the hell was that for?" She doesn't say anything as she grabs my chin and roughly turns my head to face the water. I see three guys each with a surf board under their arm. All muscular and very attractive. The first was younger than the other two, maybe a teenager, with short light brown hair and green/blue eyes. The next one has blonde medium length hair, a short beard, and dark blue eyes. He has tattoos littered throughout his torso and is taller than the first guy. The last man is the tallest with dark brown hair and piercing bright blue eyes. He has a dark beard and tattoos on both arms.

"They're looking over here, play it cool. Play it cool."

"I am. You're the one freaking out," I say rolling my eyes at her obsession with getting attention from boys as if we were still in high school.

"The only reason I'm freaking out is because I haven't gotten laid in a long time, they're hot, and...and they're coming over here. Wait," Scarlett takes her sunglasses off and squints her eyes to try to see them better because she doesn't have her glasses on, "I think I know them." I see the boys coming towards us out of the corner of my eye.

They finally make their way over to us and the blonde one asks, "Hey you're Scarlett right? We met at Renn's party a couple weeks ago," Scar nods her head at the realization "This is my brother Craig and our nephew J," the blonde surfer guy says pointing to the other two guys.

"Oh yeah, Deran right?" He nods his head. "This is my best friend Layla." I shyly wave because, let's face it, that's how I act most of the time when I'm around attractive people. The blonde, Deran, gives me the "sup" head and turns his attention back to Scar. I take time to look at the others and I realize that the tall one is staring at me. We make eye contact and immediately I look away back to Scar and Deran to tune into their conversation. From the corner of my eye I can see the tall one, Craig I think, smirking at my reaction.

"We're having a pool party at our house tonight you should come...both of you," Deran glances at me. As I'm about to object to the whole idea of going to a party, Scarlett beats me to it and agrees, saying that we'll see them there. I give a fake smile as they walk away.

"What the hell? Why would you agree to that; you know I don't like parties?" I scold her.

"Because you need to get out and they're having a party. Why not?" She says nonchalantly laying down.

Well, this party should so much fun.
