Hailey Brady has a head full of screws that are bolted to her head, keeping monsters pinned to her thoughts. She could hear them scream, rotting her brain.
Loud, loud, loud. They were angry, angry, angry.
So the girl with the head full of screws decided to run away. Living in the forest, light on toes and dancing around the whole day seemed like a good idea to Hailey at first, and she took it.
But she isn't a fairy. She can't just dance around all day. Because these monsters have her convinced they're not monsters and they keep coming for her.
They take on the familiar form of the shadows, lurking behind every single thing to taunt Hailey. The girl with screws in her head and who lives in the woods.
Hailey keeps these not-monsters close. They say they will help her achieve her goal. Light as a feather. Skin paler than mist. Eyelids transparent and bones prominent. They say they will help her.
They do.
But it's too late for Hailey Brady to go back to normal life. She's made her decision - she can't take it back.
So she will stay the fairy of the forest, light on toes, but even lighter on calories.
