Chapter 8

Chapter 8

Y/N   P.O.V.

It was late. Really, really late and I can not sleep. It was raining hard and I was sitting at my window watching the lightning and listening to the rain and thunder. According to the clock it was 3 in the morning. But I didn't close my eyes I didn't even try to sleep. I always loved storms especially at night. But it wasn't the storm that was keeping me up. It was the laughing I heard every time I closed my eyes. That laughter I thought I wouldn't hear ever again. What was it about this place that brought it back though. I have been on worse jobs in worse places but it was this school hat bought it back. Why?

*BOOM*

Another strike of lightning followed by the loud sound of thunder. It was calming sort of. I walked back to bed and tried once more to fall asleep. The laughter didn't start this time. But I heard the voice. That evil voice.

"Its been so long (Y/N). Did you miss me?"

"No." I whisper as I fall into dreamless sleep with the faint sound of laughter in the background.

-That morning-

I woke up and checked the clock. "Shit." I said. The clock read 7:45. "I'm gonna be late!" I yell getting up. I scramble over to the bathroom and quickly brush my hair and teeth. Then I quickly get my uniform on and rush out the house. I skipped breakfast because then I would be extra late. I ran as fast as I could to school. Once I got to the building I stopped to take a breath. I may be fast but sprinting up a hill is not fun and I haven't worked out in weeks. I walk inside and when I open the door I am very surprised at what I see. A bunch of Korosensei's are at everyone's desk with head bands on. My eyes widen at the sight. "Oh miss (L/N) your here! Please take a seat we are studying for the midterms and it must not be taken lightly I hope you don't plan on being again!" All the Korosensei's say. I nod still confused as I take my seat next to Karma who isn't paying attention and is instead trying to stab him. "Karma no attempts of assassination while studying!" The Korosensei clone yells. I laugh and Karma just shrugs and chucks the knife away "Fine." He mumbles. I take my seat and all of a sudden my own Korosensei clone shows up at my desk. "Hmm it seems you aren't poor in any of your subjects in fact it seems that you are farther ahead in your studies then everyone else! Fantastic! How about we just review." The clone says. I try not to burst out laughing. I was way ahead of the studies we were doing in class. "That sounds great." I tell the clone as he puts a math book in front of me and we start going over the questions.

After a couple long hours of studying we finally get a break at lunch time. I didn't have time to buy or make anything for lunch so I just stay in my seat and continue to go over last years midterm. "(Y/N) are you not eating?" I heard a perky voice behind me say, it was Kayano. "I woke up late so I didn't have time to prepare lunch." I tell her continuing to stare at the paper. "What?! That's no good come here you can share with me! No one should go without lunch. It's the second most important meal of the day!" She says dragging me over to where she was sitting. I almost told her that I've gone without any meals for days before but I held my tongue. She dragged me over to a group of people. Sitting there was Okuda, Kanzaki, Okano, Nakamura and a couple others. Kayano lays her bento box out and says "Eat whatever you like! No need to be shy we are all friends here!" She gives me a bright smile and I respond with a thanks and a small smile. I haven't heard someone call me a friend in ages and it actually felt kinda nice. For the rest of lunch we all talked and got to know each other. I especially liked Nakamura and Kayano, I seemed to get along with them the best. Right before lunch ended they asked if I wanted to walk home with them. "Of course!" I smiled. They smiled back and we all went back to our seats and continued studying.

Finally class was over, I grabbed my bag and waited by the door for the rest of the girls. When we were all there we started walking. We talked about movies, music, video games, guys, and a bunch of other things. I had a really great time some of the most fun I've in a long time. But one by one people had to leave and soon it was my street. I waved to Okuda and Kayano who were the only two left. They waved back and kept on going there way. As I got to my house I smiled as I opened the door. Today was a lot better than I expected. Especially considering the terrible night I had. I told myself not to get close with anyone and to be aware of what I say and do but in all honesty I was having a good time. Everyone was so interesting and fun. They were so different than all the assassins and adults I had to deal with. I felt like a real teenager. I walked into the kitchen to start dinner. Soon enough dinner was done and I was up in my room studying. I was listening to a band Kanzaki recommended to me. When I heard it.

"You really think they like you?"   

The voice. I shook my head and turned the music louder. I'm not going to let it get to me.

"You think they want to be friends with you? Ha! They are just using you. Besides who would want to be friends with a monster like you?"

"Shut up." I said.

"Don't you remember what happened last time? You're just a monster you don't deserve friends!"

"Shut up." I said louder.

"Soon enough they're gonna betray you like all the others have. A monster like you will never have friends. You deserve to be alone for the rest of your life! Just watch, they will leave you. They all do!"

I rip the headphones off. "SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP!" I scream. I cover my ears and close my eyes trying to block the voice.

"They will leave you and you will have no one except me. I will be here, forever."

I scream. "NO! GO AWAY! LEAVE ME ALONE!"

Soon all I can hear is laughter the laughter that haunts me. And everything goes black.

That last scene was intense. So can anyone guess what's wrong with (Y/N).
