When I entered the store, above the door, the little bell rang. My eyes wandered through the store, I was overwhelmed. I really didn't expect that so much fits into such a small shop. The first shelf was crammed with cups and matching plates, cheesy was an understatement. Now first doubts arose whether I would find something here. A slightly older, friendly-faced gentleman came up to me and asked if I was looking for something specific. "Thank you I'm just looking around a little bit." I answered his question. I walked past flower pots, colorful bottles of all sizes, old advertising signs, and something that looked like a stuffed dog on wheels.
Just as I was wondering about the dog, the bell rang a second time and someone entered the store. When I turned into the next gear, I overheard a part of a conversation: "No! We won't buy this." "Why? I think the cups with flowers are cute." "Just because I get the flat from Grandma I don't have to decorate it that way." a girl discussed with another woman. I had to grin. Yes, the girl was right, the cups were really terrible. As I spied a few really unusual cookie jars I didn't pay much attention to the conversation. I finally had chosen a biscuit, a sugar and a tea can and went to the spot. When I was about to pay, I heard that the girl and the woman came closer and they still led a lively discussion. "I'm not going to figure you out. At first you said the cups are terrible and then you're going to buy a teapot with muffins and butterflies on it." Her head shaking, the woman put the teapot on the counter next to me. "Mum, you can't simply cut the line, can't you see there is someone ?" the girl said to her mother indignantly.
Abruptly I turned around and I almost dropped the bag with the cans, as I recognized her voice. Lily. In the middle of kitschy dishes, strange dog figurines and other unusual things she was only 2 feet away from me.
Because I couldn't stand around looking like a frozen figure, I greeted her with a timid. "Hi Lily." "Oh you know this young man? " her mother noticed excited and eyed me up. "Umm yes an acquaintance. Aren't we still looking for a dress for you? We shouldn't waste any time." Lily said, looking embarrassed at the floor. She had obviously a hurry to get away from here to escape this situation. She grabbed the bag with the teapot in it and left the store with her mother quickly. What was that? I slowly walked out of the store and I enjoyed the autumn sun on my face. I saw Harry with his new hat on his head, looking for me. "Harry, Over here!" I shouted and went to him on the other side of the alley.
"Where were you? I've been missing you." "I was in the little shop over there, I even found something." I said and opened the bag to show him the cans. "Nice, what do you think of my hat?" Harry asked, tapping the brim. "You look like Humphrey Bogart. What crime is there to clarify?" I asked, laughing. "Very funny. I like it and it's better than the guitar that Niall is carrying." He disagreed, pointing in the direction from which Niall was coming. Niall actually had bought the battered guitar on which he had played previously. " Why do you buy something that looks as if termites were holding hands?" Harry asked snippy because he was still offended by my comment. Niall doesn't let himself spoil the joy of his new acquisition and only replied: "It's not broken it's stylish, there is life in it." I had to grin, Niall has almost always a positive answer to everything.
"Hey guys, guess who I just met? Lily." "Awesome man! You're really lucky." Harry forgot to be angry at me and approvingly patted me on the shoulder. Slightly bent I said: "She wasn't so happy about." I told them as Lily and her mother suddenly stood in front of me. "At first, I think you worry too much about this girl. Honestly Louis, we don't know you acting like that. And 2nd I think she might have said nothing because her mother was there." Niall mused. I knew he was right, I made myself crazy because of Lily, I just don't want to admit it to myself. Sighing I agreed with him: "You're right Niall that's not the reason why I actually wanted to take a break. I wanted to enjoy the free time and don't let me twist the head from a girl. Sorry mates.." "Don't worry, you've got us." he said with a grin. "I don't know what about you but I nearly die of starvation." Harry interrupted my gloomy thoughts. "Oh yes! How about Nando's? We barely had time to go out while we were on tour." Niall suggested enthusiastic. We agreed to Niall 's suggestion and went back to the car.
