Hidden Obsession

Chapter 6

I'm crushed. My family is gone. I have nothing. After I deal with the police they send me to my aunts house. Mind you, I never even knew about this aunt.

I'm driven back home to gather what I would like to take with me.

I grab a suit case from the basement and put all my clothes and other things in it. I specifically remember to bring the picture of my family. With my sister, dad and mom. I also go to my mothers room and take her jewelry box that she said she would give to me when I graduated.

I haven't stopped crying. Ever since I started standing outside of Erin's car and the tears came they haven't stopped since.

I get back in the police car and we start to leave my house. Well not mine anymore.

A lady named Mary is in the backseat with me talking about what I should do if I ever need any help or something like that. But I just tone her out.

The car pulls in to this neighborhood with the biggest houses I have ever seen. The car turns into the second drive way on the left. The house is amazing.

And old lady is standing on the front porch. She looks so sweet. I follow Mary up the driveway and I introduce myself to the lady.

"Nice to meet you Lucy, My name is Alisa" she says with a loving smile

I smile through the tears that come back when we start to talk about ourselves.

What I did get out of the conversation is that I'm still in the same school as I was in before and that I also get the house to myself every weekend because she spends the weekends in Ohio with her older sister. I don't get too excited because I would never even have a party because well, do u know where I rank on the popularity scale? yupp the bottom.

Other than that she showed me my room. Once again it's huge and it has its own bathroom. I told Alisa I was going to shower and go to bed I was really tired.

I spent over an hour in the shower. In tears the entire time. Just going over what has happened in the past two months. I lost my mom and dad. Wow.

When I finally fall asleep it seems that I wake up right away. It is now 8:00 am. I pick up my iPhone and text Erin everything. She asks if she an come over and I say not yet. I just need to see the house and et a handle on everything first.

My bedroom is at the top of the stairs. So it's not that hard to just walk down and see that the kitchen is to the left and front door to the right. I go left because I smell food. I'm starving.

There I see Alisa making bacon and pancakes. We talk and talk and then she says she has to leave and go to work I don't argue and say good bye.

"There is food in the fridge and do whatever you want but this is the only day of school I will let you miss.!" She says walking out the door.

For an older woman, I have to say she gets around.

That's when I call Erin.

"Hey if u want to come over Alisa said you could" I say trying to sound happier than I really am.

"That sounds like fun but mason and I have plans for today."

"REALLY! you are missing school for a boyfriend!?"

"Well he said we would do something fun!"

"Oh you know what that means..."

I say with a smirk, even though she can't see it.

"I know!!!" She says sounding a bit too excited. "But wait come over to masons house quick I have to give u something" she adds

"Okay but only for a minute."

I almost forgot I don't have a car. Well there's another car in the driveway and keys on the table. So I take it upon myself to take the car. I set my GPS on my phone to get me to mason's house. I'm there in 15 minutes.

I knock and here a mumbled "come in!" I walk in to Erin fixing her shirt and her hair is a mess. And then mason with no shirt on.

What. The. Fuck.

I turn my head and say

"The the hell!? why do u hate me!"

"Sorry" is all I hear from both of them.

"Are u decent now!?" I ask before turning around.

"Yeah."

"So what did u need to give me, Erin?"

"Oh here" she says pulling something out of her pocket

"It's a best friends infinity ring!"

It's really really nice.

"I LOVE IT! THANK YOU SO MUCH"

She smiles "no problem"

Mason whispers something to Erin making her blush. And that's my message to leave.

"Thanks again Erin, but I should be going now" I say turning out the door.

"Bye Lucy!" before I ever even get in my car I hear giggles and bed springs squeaking.

"Really guys u could not wait 5 more minutes" I say to myself. Sorta smiling.

I find my way back into my new neighborhood and I see what looks like a kid about 7 and an older guy my age playing soccer in the front yard of the house next door. I don't think too much of it. I park the car in the driveway and get out.

It's not until then I realize who it is
