Okay, I cannot stress this enough; NEVER go to sleep with any makeup on!! It had to be the first thing in this book, because you know you play with makeup you apply it and experiment but then you're like "oh i'm tired im just gonna go to sleep with it and reapply tomorrow", or "oh this look is so pretty i wanna wear it again tomorrow might as well not take it off" NO! NO NO NO NO NO!!
Here are some horrible things that might happen to you if you ignore my advice and go to sleep with makeup on;
-Going to sleep with eye makeup on (e.g. mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow, glitter wtv) can cause dryness, redness, irritation and infection. trust me, you don't want that
-Your skin is going to age faster, because the makeup can increase your exposure to free radicals in your sleep, which leads to collagen breakdown. your skin needs that collagen
I found this article if you want proof, just read through it.-not removing your foundation clogs your pores and your skin is going to breakout, no it's not escaping from prison, you're going to get pimples. And if you already have acne, i guarantee you it's not going to help! most people don't like to have pimples, they hurt and they are a sign of, well, unclear skin
-the makeup residue creates a barrier between your skin and your skin care products, such as moisturizer, it won't let the moisture go through, leaving you with dry skin. so you want to take care of that, especially when your skin is naturally dry!
-PLEASE do both of us a favor and NEVER go to sleep with mascara and/or liner on! It can, now read carefully, CLOG your EYELASH FOLLICLES which can cause some bumps forming there, called styes, look it up "at your own risk" but that's not it, going to sleep with mascara weakens your eyelashes, causing them to break easily. I suggest to get a makeup remover which is made to remove waterproof eye makeup OR coconut oil will do the job as well
-going to sleep with any type of lipstick (liquid lipstick, lipgloss, matte lipstick, sheer lipstick w h a t e v e r) leads to dryness and chapping. it's better to reach for moisturizing lip balm before going to sleep maybe twice a week, if you have dry lips, but i'll cover lip care later in this book.
All in all you want your skin to get some rest when you're going to sleep and if you want to keep your skin healthy (yes, you want that) then listen to my advice and make sure there's no leftover makeup on your face before you go to sleep, I just want the best for you and your beautiful skin.
