ONE AND A HALF YEARS LATER,
29th OF MARCH, 2013.
DAVE'S POV:
I've been a little edgy lately. There were so many things on my mind, and where to start telling them to you guys? Okay, got it!
First of all, well that's the most important and the thing I was thinking the most about, but I'll tell it after the second one.
The second one was that I was thinking of retiring from my CIA job, but I wasn't too sure. It might be another RED movie situation again, where assassins were out to kill me. The reason why I was contemplating about retirement at such a young age had something to do with the first thing I was thinking about.
Marriage.
Married to Isabelle Cress, to be specific.
It has been a year since our break-up and being a couple again, ever since the mission that we did together with my sister Cheymayne and Isabelle's brother, Nathan. Coincidentally, all four of us were CIA agents and we didn't even know of each other's profession in espionage. We kept it well from each other. What to expect from top special agents slash spies?
Ever since then, our relationship has increased incredibly. I was turning twenty-five in eight days, on April the 6th. Was I still too young to think about marriage? I didn't really think so. She was the same age as me.
Here is my plan: I wanted to propose to her on the day of my birthday. I'll probably just have a small party with Cheymayne, Nathan and Isabelle, and pop the question to her in front of my sister and her boyfriend. But before I do that, I had to ask Nathan about it. Whether he was willing or not to let me marry his sister.
In my spare time at home, I was thinking about how I was going to propose to Isabelle. The one thing that worried me the most was whether she would say yes-
or no.
I guess every guy has to be open to the thought of their girlfriends rejecting them. In most cases, they always say 'yes'. It depends on your relationship. If your relationship was steady, and you were sure that she was going to accept you, then go for it!
I'm grinning weakly right now. I honestly don't know whether she thinks it is too early to get married, without hinting that I want to get married. Life is confusing.
I was in my Lamborghini, on my way to see Nathan. I had earlier texted to meet up with him, and he asked me to come to the Cress Residence. I asked whether Isabelle was around. He said no, she went out with Cheymayne for shopping.
The coast is clear.
I had butterflies in my stomach as I turned the corner; I could see the two-storey semi-detached bungalow of the Cress Residence. I didn't even need to honk my horn; the gate opened up and I drove right in. Isabelle's Ferrari wasn't around; only Nathan's bike was there. The main door opened, and I went in, taking off my shoes as I did.
"Yo bro!" Nathan grinned, bear hugging me.
"Too close. For. Comfort," I grunted, and he released me, his usual mischievous grin on his face.
"BRO, BRO," he grinned, clapping his hand on my shoulder and leading me to the couch. He stood. "Anything you wanna drink? How about a martini?"
How about a penis? I wanted to blurt out Pewdiepie's Facade. But no, I didn't say that. He's a dude, I'm a dude. I don't swing that way.
"Just get me a glass of cold water," I told him. He was disappointed. "Hey, I can't drink alcohol in broad day light," I reasoned. "On any other day, I will be glad to drink with ya."
