Halloween(26)

"No! It can't be!" Caroline gasps. Bonnie looks to me.

"Klaus?" She asks. I look at her and then look to the ground

"Yes. It's klaus. And I don't know how it will happen. I need to talk to my sisters. One can tell the future." I tell them. Were all silent for a minute and I look at all of them and study there faces. They look scared almost.

"You know what! Tonight's Halloween. Let's not rain on the parade." Bonnie says. We all nod our heads.

"Your right. It's not like its gonna happen tonight and if it does, I'll kill him anyways." I say. We all go back to getting ready and when were done we head downstairs and out to the car.

"What kind of party is this?" I ask.

"It's just a high school party. So we need to bring our own drinks." Elena says smiling.

"Shit! Ok, I'll be back in a few minutes. I'm just gonna go and see what I have. What's everyone's favorites?" I ask.

"Fruity, rum, scotch!" They Eco. I get out of the drivers seat and run to the back barn but since vampire skills aren't available right now. It's might as well have been a walk. I go in and look in the liquor cabinet. I grab everything they asked for and shrink it down to fit in my pockets. I also grab, vodka, 2 lemons and salt, also shrinking them down. I look around the place and it's just as if Katherine was still living here. I walk out the door to find something being jabbed into my arm. There's an intense pain and then all is black. I find myself waking up to the blood all rushed to my head.

"What the fu..." I'm cut off by a laugh. I look around and find myself hanging by my feet from a tree in the forest. I see a figure and make it out to be male. My body starts to spin and I can't see him anymore. I laugh myself and transport myself out of the ropes and onto the branch I was swinging from.

"Shit!" I hear him yell. His voice is recognizable.

"Maxwell?" I ask.

"Ya. I thought if I could drag you out here, we could talk." He says.

" you just had to ask while you weren't drunk, it was the middle of the night, and my boyfriend wasn't sleeping in the bed above us." I say. I jump down from the branch and onto the ground.

"Right now isn't the best time either. Could it be, let's say, tomorrow night?" I ask.

"Look I just want to know, why did you free me from klaus if you didn't still want to be with me?" He asks.

"That's a complicated question that I don't have the answer to. I mean I know that it was the right thing to do. You didn't deserve to be his slave, let's say. And I felt like I owed you." I say.

"So you don't still have feelings for me?" He asks. I see the hope on his face. I don't want to hurt him, but for the sake of Damon and Maxwell not still going after me, I need to tell him the truth.

"Look, I loved you more then the world, but when I thought you died, I move on. And there is no going back from that. Including you, there's 3 guys after me and I honestly don't see why. Now if you want to talk to Tyler about this, I'm sure he can help. I'm his werewolf mate and I don't feel that way about him, well that strong. You need to deal with the fact that I moved on even though I will always love you, ok?" I tell him truthfully. He looks sad but he nods his head.

"I understand, and I will always love you to. And I'm always going to be around if you ever change your mind." He says. I smile.

"Thank you for understanding." I say. I walk over to him and hug him tight. It takes him a minute to hug back but he finally does.
