I'm escorted down the aisle which was set up in a little more than 3hrs and looks amazing by my father. I look up and my eyes fall on Meg then they travel to the best man and finally land on Michael. he looks so dang sexy in his suit that I can't look away. when I reach the end of the aisle my father pulls me into a hug and then releases me with tears on the brink of spilling over he sits down. It's taking all I have to not cry I'm so happy and scarred but I take one look into Michaels eyes and all the fear goes away and confidence takes over. the priest starts and when it's time to say I do Michael says it so confidently with all his love and emotion in those two words its hard not to follow his lead so I answer with I do and I'm suddenly captured in a kiss I never want to break but know I have to. Michael escorts me down the aisle as we head off too the reception for food and a night of partying.
"Are you ready?" he asks me but he means more than the reception he means for the rest of our lives together through the good and bad in sickness and I health.
"Yes," I answer him confidently because I know right then and there that he is truly the one I'm made for and he will stand by me when no one else will.
"Good 'cause we're here," he tells me picking me up bridal style and carrying me inside. once we get inside we are greeted by a round of applause and smiles along with a couple whistles and cheers. A lady comes by and shows us to our table at the head of the big room Meg sits to the right of me and Michael to the left. the waitresses then come around serving everyone. once I have my food they start with the toasts I try to contain my groan as I hear my stomach growl. luckily they are all quick and to the point thank god! we all start to eat as we fall into an easy conversation only to be interrupted when the D-jay says its time to get this party started and calls for the first dance for me and Michael.
Michael takes my arm and pulls me onto the dance floor as we fall into a steady rocking motion to the song 'it's your love' by Tim McGraw . I melt into his body feeling the need to be closer to him when the song ends my father walks up and another song starts as I dance with my dad I find myself humming to the tune of 'Godspeed' by the Dixie Chicks I had picked this song because it was my moms favorite.
"She would have been so proud you know that right?" he says lowly and I nod knowing that its true, "she loved you more than you could imagine she was constantly worrying about you it was kind of funny the way she got all worked up," he says with a small sad laugh tears pooling in his eyes.
"I love you dad," I tell him as tears spill out of my eyes.
"I love you too," he tells me then gives me one last hug before the songs over.
Once I'm done dancing with my dad the DJ puts on some upbeat music and I'm suddenly pulled onto the dance floor by Meg and for the first time I realize its gonna be a long night.
