Silence

I lay there in the woods thinking about how horrible I am. No matter how insane you never kill your mate! It's the number one rule for all werewolves. And I just killed mine.

When I finally get back I find everyone is looking for me. When they notice me they swarm like bees to honey firing questions at me like 'where were you?' 'are you hurt?' 'What happened?'. And then suddenly I find myself crying and pushing threw the crowd. I can't tell them anything or it might mean my life. So I just keep my mouth shut letting the pain slip out inside of silent tears one by one. And I will stay silent until deaths cold comforting hand leads me to the gates of after life.

When I'm about to break, to crumble into a million pieces of pain and sorrow I find myself engulfed in strong gentle arms. I look up to find Octavian is the one holding me and I was okay with it. After all that's happened it's nice to know some one cares. I let myself slip into his embrace comforted by the beating of his heart. And right there in the midst of my sorrow I find a seed of happiness because I realize you don't pick your mates you embrace them much like a hug.

Octavian slowly guides me to the small cottage at the edge of the forest not saying a word the whole time. Comforted by silence I start to relax. Once the door of the cottage is shut he turns to me gesturing for me to take a seat and asks "what's wrong?"

I look up. He cares? But I know if I say anything my secret will slip out. I wanted to talk to tell him everything but I couldn't. And he understands because he doesn't press for anymore answers. We just sit there watching each other. Analyzing each other. Picking out every perfect detail, every twist of the wrist or curve of the lips. He is mine and at that moment I know I love him.
