Chapter 6 - Not So Mutual Anymore

So I've been trying hard to find time to write and update as much as possible. Its just been a bit difficult due to school and rowing etc etc. Anyway, this time the gap between each update has been pretty slim compared to last time. Fingers crossed that never happens again ;)

Its a Friday afternoon and Im going round to the Brooks' for the night.

The bell sounds for the end of last period, this is when the nerves really start to kick in. I exit the classroom swiftly between all the other students and quickly walk out of the school to try and avoid any form of contact with Tayla.

"HATTIE"

I search for the caller of my name. Praying to God it isnt Tayla.

"BOO"

My shoulders tense and my body shudders as I release a scream of fear.

"Gotcha" Jai places his hands on my waist and spins around so we're facing front on with each other. I let out a sigh of refief and we continue to walk side by side (not holding hands of course) and make our way to Jai's. Jai's company eases my mind off Tayla for a short while, a short while being as I had erased her from my head until I rememebered again that she was coming over. The anxietys kicking in again.

"Oi slut I Couldnt find you after school. Text me Jai's deets and I'll meet you guys there :)"

I was really not looking forward to what the next two days could possibly bring. But for now I hide it with a smile and a wink.

"Oh sorry I thought you had already left. Yeah I'll see you soon"

I give her Jai's adress and continue to try and mentally prepare myself whilst talking to Jai.

TAYLAS POV

I knew that Hattie was trying to avoid this whole situation, her face shows it all. But instead of backing out, I just go with it and ride the wave.

I arrive at the Brooks' house and knock on the front door awaiting for someone to greet me inside.

"COMING"

Assuming that was for me, I wait impatiently tapping my foot on the ground.

"Hey Tayla. Come in" Jye, I think it is, greets me inside. I walk in and Im welcomed by Hattie with a nervous hug. I pat her on the back and sneak a smirk. Tonights gonna be the perfect night to mess with Hattie and her cute guy friend, but first I get cosy and make myself at home.

"So uh, Hattie aye?!" I get my opportunity to talk to Jai when Hattie goes to the bathroom. I pop a seat next to him on the couch.

"Yeah shes quite the charm" he cheeks a smile. I place my hand on his thigh and bite my lip. He blushes hard and resists his urges. I tease him.

"So uh, Hattie?" I ask the question again rubing up against him.

"Who?" I can tell his mind is babbling, hes nervous. I release my grasp on his thigh and scoot over to the next cushion before Hattie joins us again. I see why Hattie has 'feelings for this kid'

"Movie anyone?"

The night progresses. Scene by scene I get a sneak peak from Jai every once in a while. He's not feeling the spark he once had with Hattie a few days ago. All eyes on me, just the way I like it.

Hey guys.

So, NO this is not the whole chapter. I just had to stop here for the moment cause Ive got to get ready for rowing and what not. I'll finish this chapter tomorrow night, I promise. So please dont be too disappointed with this outcome cause its NOT THE END!
