Here We Go.. Again

I woke up with puffy eye lids. I had been holding back tears all last night, and was feeling emotionally drained. With my mom no where to be found, I spent the whole day moping around and eating too much. Around two in the afternoon, I got a phone call. I pasued my netflix movie to answer the phone. "Hello?" I said into the phone. "Maia, hi, don't Hang up. I'm still really sorry, and I want you to know that". I rolled my eyes adn took a deep breath. "Hi Jaden, uhm, it's okay. It is what it is. Er.. Let's just forget it all and be.. buds. Okay?" I said. Jaden was silent for a moment, then he spoke, "I don't want to forget about it, I really like you and I kind of wanted you to be my girlfriend or whatever". I couldn't help but laugh bitterly at that, "Yeah, you made that really clear by fucking some girl behind my back,". After about a minute, I broke Jaden silence, "Sorry, that was rude. I'm actually okay, it's not like we were dating or anything.. I just don't think that's what you really want... And frankly, if being your "girlfriend, or whatever" means doing this on a regular basis, I don't think I'm cut out for it. Okay? I'm gunna go". I hung up the phone. Well that was uncomfortable. For the rest of the day I tried to keep Jaden and my feelings for him, out of my head. I went to the gym, did some much needed homework and took a nap. By the time I woke up from my nap, it was around 4pm. I checked my phone and found a text from Zoe.

Zoe: Hey! It's been awhile since I've seen you! I miss you M! I was hoping we could get the bitchcraft together and hit Nobu or something. Text me back! :)))))

I smiled at my phone, at least my friendships were still intact. I texted back:

Me: Totally! I miss you guys too! Nobu sounds great, then maybe we can catch a movie after!

Zoe replied insatntly:

Zoe: Yay! I'm filling Spencer in. Let's meet at 6? I'm making reservations!

Me: Okay! See you soon!

I finished up the movie I was watching and then went upstairs to shower. In the hallway upstairs, I ran into my mother. "Hi sweetheart! How are you? It feels like I haven't seen you in ages," she gushed. I smiled at my mother, ever since we moved she looked happier, healthier and even younger. I guess it's 'cause I wasn;t stressing her out as much. For the first time in awhile, I thought about my hometown, my old friends, and all the partying I used to get up to. I managed to snap back into reality before my mind wandered off. "I'm fine Mom. Homework is up to date and my room is clean," I managed with a weak smile. Not that she noticed. Either she wasn't good at picking up on my mood, or I was really good at hiding it. "That's great!", she said, pulling my into a hug, "I'm really happy we're getting along again! I love you, and only want the best for you". I nodded and hugged her back. My mother is incredibly annoying, but she's still my mother, and I love her. I hopped into the shower, crubbed my body, blow dried my hair, flat ironed it,  did my make up and was out door in about an hour. I hopped into my car and started up the engine. As I drove into traffic, I sighed in relief. At least tonight, I'll have some fun. I thought as handed the valet my keys adn walked into Nobu. I looked towards our regular table and found Spencer and Zoe sitting there. With Mateo, Moises and Jaden. Shit.

I contemplated turning around, driving home and faking sick but Zoe spotted me and started to call my name. "Maia! Maiaaa! Over here!". I should have know from the excessive amount of papz outside. I slowly walked over to them and took the only seat available, next to Jaden and Moises. They each greeted me normally, except for Jaden. He gave me a head nod and a strange look. I brushed it off because there were bigger developments at the table. I looked down and saw Zoe holding Moises' hand and Spencer holding Mateo's. I shot them a curious look, to which Zoe shouted, "We're dating! All of us! Well not like all of us, like I'm dating Moises and Spencer and Mateo are together! Isn't that exciting!? Which sounds better, 'Zoises' or 'Moe'?" she asked, her eyes dazzling. I couldn't help but smile, I was genuinely happy for all of them. It would definitely make things more difficult for me, but I could deal. "'Zoises', hands-down," I laughed. The meal wrapped-up without a bump. I discovered that Zoe and Spencer had no idea what had happened with Jaden and I, and if Mateo and Moises knew, they weren't showing it. On our way out of the restaurant, Moises told us he could get us into to a club, since he knew the backdoor guy. The girls were so excited and I didn't really want to seem like the party-pooper so I agreed to go and we all headed out.
