Chapter Five: Mabel's P.O.V. Trouble

Pacifica steps out of the bathroom. We meet eyes, but I don't know what to say. She looks so much older.
I bet I do too.
"Um, so how was eighth grade?" Pacifica asks."And freshman year?"
"Oh, um, eighth grade wasn't too bad, with Dipper by my side," I answer. We both glance to my sleeping brother."But so far, high school isn't so great."
"Oh... I'm sorry..."
I shake my head."It's fine. What about you?"
"Not good."
"Sorry. I wish I could go to Gravity Falls High School so we could be together. So you wouldn't have to be alone. I can't stand the thought of you out there in the world alone." We make eye contact, but I look down to the floor, not knowing what else to do.
  "I wish I could go to Piedmont with you at the end of the summer," she says."But I'd miss the weirdness."
My brother breaks the awkward silence as he wakes up.
We say our good mornings.
"I have to tell you guys something," Pacifica suddenly announces."I hate to tell you this because you just got here yesterday, but Bill is back."
  "What?!" Dipper and I yell in unison.
  "Ugh, him again?" I then add.
  "He came into my dream last night asking for our universe," she continues."It sounds stupid, but it sounds like he really meant it. He wanted it from me, and the way he talked made me feel like in the future is make a stupid deal with him. But I'd never do that, not for anything!"
  "Yeah, and how the hell could you give him the universe anyway?" Dipper asks.
  "I have no idea."
  "Well, it's Bill. Who knows what could happen?" I include.
  "All I know is that we could be in trouble," my girlfriend states.
  "As long as he doesn't bother us we should be fine," my twin concludes, reading through the journal."If he keeps haunting your dreams, he'll haunt Mabel's and mine. And he could slowly gain control of us. We surely are in deep trouble."
