Princess Marianna

"Once upon a time, there was a princess named Marianna." I begin. "She lived in a very big house." I say as two pairs of big green eyes stare back at me.

*Earlier that Day
"Hey Ashy?" Andre says as I get out of bed to make breakfast.

"If this is about school, I don't want to hear it. I hate that place, but I have to go there in an hour." I groan.

"You wanna meet my little sister? Her babysitter canceled, and she can't sleepover at anyone's house so I figured we could take care of her here for... three days..." he says studying my expression.

"Sure." I say with a shrug.

His face brightens and he smiles. He walks over to me and hugs me from behind.

"Andre! I'm cooking!" I whine.

He looked at me with a huge smile. He still doesn't release me from his hold. I squirm and snack his arms but fail to escape.

"I'm burning your eggs!" I say matter-of-factly. He hides his in my neck and tightens his grip. I roll my eyes and try to reach for a plate.

Andre releases one of his arms and grabs two plates for me. I roll my eyes and serve the eggs.

After breakfast we get into my car. This time Andre drives as I text Lilly a quick good morning.

"Why don't you just move in already?" I say without thinking.

"Your a sophomore baby." He says without looking at me.

"So are you!" I pout.

"Oh come on baby! Let's not fight about this." He says still not looking at me.

"Andre! You practically live here anyways! Come on babes please?" I beg pulling on his sleeve.

"I'll think about it Ashy but what happens if we breakup? I'll have to move out." He says STILL not looking at me.

*Andre's POV*
"Please, please, please! Andre! I agreed to let your sister stay with for a few days!" She says poking my shoulder.

"Ashley.... Does this mean a lot to you?" I say finally glancing at her. She nods and grabs a hold of my hand.

"Okay." I say and squeeze her hand. She lets out a little squeel and kisses my hand. She's so cute when she's ecxited.
-After School-
"Her Caretaker will be dropping her off in five minutes!" I shout to Ashley who's on the other side of the house. I'm calmly eating skittles as she rushes around the house trying to make everything perfect.

Ding! Dong!

"I'LL GET IT!" she yells as she sprints across the house to the door. She looks frazzled but in an adorable way.

-Ashley's POV-
I fix up my hair a little before opening the door with a smile. I see an adorable little girl with the same eyes as Andre staring at me confused. "You aren't my brother!" she pouts.

Andre comes over and drapes his arm across my waist. "No. Your right, I'm Andre." he says with a smile. "And this is Ashley." he continues. The little girl jumps into Andre's arms and hugs him. The woman behind her clears her throat and hands me all of the little girls bags.

"You dumped me for this?" she says eyeing me. "I thought you'd have a child of your own with that Stephanie girl." she says sneering at me. Oh so they have a history. Yay. Note my sarcasm.

Andre just rolls his eyes and shuts the door on her face.

"Ashley? Can you tell me a story?" the little girl says pulling on my finger. I nod and both Andre and Eleanor sit on the couch.

"You can call me Ella, by the way." the little girl adds cheerfully.

I smile and begin my story...
"Once upon a time there was a princess names Marianna, and she lived in a very big house. She had three big brothers who loved her very much. They were very protective of her all the time and made sure she never got in trouble. Marianna also had a Mommy and Daddy. They also loved her, but never showed it. They had a lot of money and bought many things for Marianna. One day her Mommy told her that she had to marry a prince. The prince was very mean to Marianna. He called her mean things, pushed her around, but worst of all he hit her. Marianna thought he did those things because he loved her but got angry sometimes. As Marianna got older she started to feel worse. The mean prince was hurting her so bad that she did not want to leave her room. The princess started to do very bad things to herself. Things that could've killed her." I pause as a little tear escapes but I wipe it away and continue. "Marianna's brothers were scared for their little sister. They were scared she might actually end up killing herself... And she almost did. One night after the prince was hitting Marianna, she snuck into her oldest brothers room. She that he was awake so she went in. She found him... Asleep on the floor with many, many bottles of beer around him. Marianna felt her heart break. She quickly kissed him on the cheek and wrote him a little note. She then went into her next brothers room. He was there with a girl. This girl was a very mean and bad girl. Again Marianna felt her heart break a little more as her brother told her to get out. She slipped a letter under his door and kept walking. She reached her last brothers door and went it. She found him sitting in bed reading. Marianna smiled at her brother and gave him a hug. She told him she loved him and talked with him for a while. She gave him his letter and returned to her room. Marianna did a very bad thing and tried to kill herself. She swallowed a handful of pills. Soon she felt her eyes close as she fell to the floor. The next morning Marianna's favorite brother went into her room to wake her up but couldn't. He cried a lot and took Marianna to the hospital. The doctors helped Marianna and saved her life. Marianna was very happy to be alive and thanked her brother for helping save her life. A couple days later Marianna's Mommy and Daddy got into a very big fight. They decided that they did not love each other anymore and did not want to live together. This made Marianna very sad so she moved away to live by herself. She changed her name and hair color, she even moved schools. At her new school she met a new prince. This prince was very nice to Marianna. He loved Marianna and she loved him too. Now Princess Marianna and the prince live in a little house together. They will live Happily ever After." I finish wiping away any tears that spilled. Andre pulls me onto his lap and kisses my nose.

"I love you princess." he whispers into my ear.

I think for now I will live happily ever after.
