❀Courtney's P.O.V❀
"It's been twenty minutes, Alex, I'm getting worried." I say, holding his hand tightly as he leads me back into the house.
"Relax, nothing serious can happen in twenty minutes. Besides, I texted the rest of the guys and they're helping us find her." He reassures me, giving my hand a gentle squeeze as he sees my worried expression.
"Many things can happen in twenty minutes, but thank you for trying to calm my nerves."
I walk through the crowd of people as I bite my lip, picturing the worst-case scenario in my head.
"Damien, come dance with me." A voice shouts from behind us and I quickly spin around to see Emily tugging on Damien's arm. He stumbles as he chugs down his drink, setting it down on a chair before he grabs Emily's waist.
Feeling my fear fade into anger, I let go of Alex's hand and storm towards the drunken couple.
"Excuse me." I tell Damien as I grab her hand and pull her away from the dance floor, hearing her whine. Once we're away from the sweaty dancers, I turn to look at her in the eye and grab her shoulders. "Emily, what the hell!"
She furrows her eyebrows at me, "What did I do?"
"You broke all of our rules!"
"No I didn't...I– what are our rules?" She questions, reaching out and grabbing a cup from a girl who was passing by. She looks at her with a scowl, before she continues to walk.
I take away the drink before she can even take a sip, "Emily, you're already drunk."
"Well duh, I was playing beer pong with Damien and we kept losing."
"You're known to have a terrible aim..." I mutter as I set down the cup on a nearby table, looking back up to see her drinking from a new cup. "What the hell, I looked away for a few seconds and you already have another one. Where did you get that from?"
"A guy gave it to me." She tells me and I immediately snatch it from her, frowning when I notice that the cup is already empty.
"Emily, let's go, I can't trust you to be here when you're drunk." I order, pulling her towards the exit, but she pulls away from me. "Emily, stop making this hard for me, you can't be here."
She crosses her arms across her chest, pouting. "I don't want to go home yet."
"Well, that's too bad because I'm not giving you a choice."
"You sound just like my brother." She says as she rolls her eyes.
"I don't care, let's go." I grab her arm, pulling her towards the wanted destination.
"Wait, let me go pee first." She frowns, "Please? I'll tell Damien to go with me."
"Fine, but make it quick."
She nods her head and goes back into the crowd of people, while I climb onto a chair to make sure Damien accompanies her. When I see them climb up the stairs together, I sigh in relief and climb back down to see Alex approaching me.
