I continuously blink my eyelids to get use to the blinding sun entering my eyes. I rub them allowing them to open. Managing to finally get them awake, I gaze around to see Aaron still asleep, Derek wide awake and who's arm is still snuck around me. As for Aidan. Wait. Where's Aidan? In shock, I jerk up from my sleeping position, realising what trouble we could be in.

"Where's Aidan?" I abruptly ask.

"Shh, calm down. He's gone to get breakfast" Derek says and lightly pushes my body back down close to him. I sigh in relief and stare in his eyes.

"So, did you sleep?" I ask with a small bit of hope.

"Surprisingly, a few hours" he responds with a smile.

"Good, glad I could be at you service" I plant a peck on Derek's lips. He grins and strokes my cheek.

"Get a room!" Aaron yells and Derek throws a stick at him. I giggle and finally get up. I let out a big stretch, allowing the morning sun to shine on me. It looked beautiful from where we were. I guess the forest still has its moments.

"So today, can you train me to contain my ability?" I ask Derek who's face seems pleased.

"Of course" he answers with a grin on his face. "Let's start now".

________

Derek taught me more than I oils imagine to do on my own. He told me to go to a happy place, when the transformation would go out of control. Once I get the hang of it, it will come naturally. He also showed me how to fight and be alert about your surroundings when in a battle. It wasn't everything I needed to know, but was enough.

"Hey, where's Aaron? He's been gone for about four hours" Aaron comments as we all sit waiting for his presence.

"I know, what's taking so long?" I ask directly to Derek.

"I don't know. It obviously doesn't take that long to find food. I'm going out there" Derek comments and he begins to walk into the trees.

"W-wait! You can't go alone, who knows what he's planning?" I pronounce. "We'll all go".

"No, you two stay here I'll be back" Derek's stubborn personality got in the way and he begins to walk closer. As soon as he enters the tall, dark, mysterious trees, Aidan pops out.

"You know, you guys have very low standards of me" he rudely comments and Derek's first curls up.

"What do you expect when your hours late for a meal?" I retort.

"Maybe he had company" an unfamiliar voice lurks through the bushes. The silhouette finally appears and it's someone who I wished to never see again. Veronica.

"Oh my god" Aaron comments.

Her eyebrow cocks in confidence and her posture intimidates me, as she stood beside Aidan. Sucking her teeth wanting to kill me more then ever.

"I knew it. Your sick, you know that?!" Derek spat with rage as his fist curls up and eyes glow. Before I knew it, Derek attacks Aidan. He takes a merciless swing at him, but Aidan returns just as hard. Back at each other's throats, I couldn't stand there and do nothing.

I ran towards them, but Veronica was just too quick. She hits me right in the centre of my stomach, but I wipe the pain past me. She stares deeply into my vulnerable soul, as I stand up with courage and face her directly. Wanting to fight her more than ever.

My claws grow out of my shaking hands and my teeth bulge out of my mouth. Desperate for vengeance.

I lunge my hands across her face leaving her with claw marks running down her cheek, but she lacerates my chest and it takes away a breath. I look down as blood escapes my wound.

"Mila stop!" Aaron calls out from behind. I ignore. This is my time to show her how strong I am. Before I knew it, Veronica kicks against my chest bringing me to the ground with an agonising hit to the head. I turn to my side crouching in pain, but it was not enough to stop me from killing her.

"You really thought you could stop me? Huh?" She lets out a loud and villainous laugh. "You wait till you see your friend, she's been crying out for your name. Well, that's if you get to see her, she might be dead before you get to her. But, there's nothing you can do to save her. Your useless just as much as you were when you were a human!" She shouts circling my body. I sense where she stood, watching me below her feet. Knowing I'm broken and vain.

My anger grew into frustration. Frustration grew into vexation. In a matter of time, I swung my leg, causing her to fall and land on her back. I manage to stand up, as my body partly heals. I watch as she moans in discomfort, somewhat proud of my bravery and common sense. But yet, there's more than just one person out to kill me ruins that achievement. I hear footsteps walking behind me. As they get closer I turn around to see Aidan.

I quickly catch a glimpse of Derek's face who had blood drilling down from numerous cuts.

"Don't you dare touch her!" He yells from his knees.

"This pretty thing?" Aidan touches my face, but I jolt my head away. I watch as Aaron sprints to strike Aidan. But, Veronica immediately takes him down which knocks him out instantly.

"Enough!" I yell at him and push his shoulders away from me.

"It hasn't even started yet sweet heart, you do what I say!" Aidan pushes me up against a tree as his face was mere centimetres from mine. "Any last words before I knock you out cold?" He rudely questions and I struggle to escape his tight grasp around my throat.

A silent pause hung in the air.

"Go to hell" I pronounce. Aidan grins and takes his ruthless punch.
