So slow was time, that it were many moons till twelve when the Nameless awaited her call.
But when She finally reached out and was pleased with Her work, the Awaited One that had grew beautiful in both image and soul.
That night Aaliyah lay, finally, her breaths spent and her works done and fulfilled, they circled her, the dear ones she led, when the Nameless could only stay in the shadows away from Sight;
Aaliyah, who turned her eyes to the bleak skies—a night of blackness, such that She had hid Her face that day the One died, and gasped her last prayers to the heavens:
I pray on, let this day be everlasting; so my promise will be fulfilled;
I have not been deemed worthy to take this One under my wing; I have been cruel, and harsh of tongue, for jealousy burns within me;
And finally it shall dwindle now in ashes, for what use is my Sight at my last breath?
It is only She who has created everything, and blessed us with her own image; who is eternal and shall be at our side even in times of faithlessness;
And assure me, that by Returning you will guide her path.
They say on the moment of Aaliyah's death her prayer was heard, the heavens were as if split by a slash of silver and came to earth in a shattered light that reflected with the eyes of the one who had been commanded to darkness; a light that spoke and touched her lips, saying:
Speak, you who are blessed, this Listener I have crafted in the womb of stars and the spirit of the One who serves his predecessor;
For by being shunned you have learnt humility; among harsh tongues you have learnt to speak with gentleness;
And it has been beautiful, a delight in my eyes.
So now from the last I will put to you as first, the Omega shall be the Alpha, as prophesied of this Awaited One.
From that day onward she was One among the brothers, and none rivaled her composure and authority she was given, for it was a blessing from She who commanded all.
