Harry's POV

Wren pulled me out onto a road that wound around her house. A little pond sat behind all of the trees, and the light from the moon made shimmering reflections bounce across the water and onto her porcelain skin. Our fingers were still laced together as she led the way. She had called it her safe place; the place where she was taking me. She said that she went there when she needed to find comfort and needed to be alone. I had found it weird that she hadn't mentioned it before, but I didn't push her for answers, thinking she'd give them to me later on.

The stars above us were glowing with soft white light and they matched the color of the moon, making everything seem magical. "Here we are," Wren said, her voice quiet in the night. We stopped in front of an abandoned building that looked completely broken. But she still led me inside. The outside of the shack looked defeated; like it had gone through hell and only barely made it back. But the inside, was beautiful, complete with fairy lights that hung from the pillars and some flowers that gave it a nice summer smell.

The back wall had a huge hole in it with jagged edges that gave us a perfect view of the small pond with the moon right above it. The image in front of us looked like something that would be drawn onto the back of a postcard, or something you'd see on Google, but this was real and it was incredible.

Wren let go of my hand and sat down on the ground. I noticed that underneath her, there was a round dark blue carpet that camouflaged itself into the darkness, and I sat down next to her, our shoulders slightly bumping together every now and then. There were a billion stars in the sky and I was staring at her. She was just as beautiful, if not more. Her eyelashes were long and they fluttered in content, her full lips were parted as a soft sigh escaped them, and her blue eyes had the reflection of the stars in them, their color glowing and shining. I wanted to run my fingertip along her cheek, in need of her touch, in need of her soft skin, but she had a boyfriend and I couldn't do that to her. Even though she'd cheated on him more than once with me.

"I brought you out here because I need to tell you something," Wren whispered, her face turning towards mine so our eyes locked. "It's important."

My heart raced at what it could be but I swallowed hard and nodded my head, signaling for her to go on. Her small hand found my own again and I glanced down at our fingers. My cross tattoo was dark and I could feel her touch trace the outline of it, sending a shiver down my spine. I spun my body so I was fully facing her and she did the same, scooting closer to my frame. "What is it that you need to tell me?" I asked her softly, not wanting to push her if it was personal.

She took a deep breath and I could see in her eyes that she was nervous to tell me. A slight breeze wiggled its way into the shack and moved strands of Wren's hair across her face, giving me an excuse to touch her. I moved the hair away from her eyes and gently tucked it behind her ears. She gave me a weak smile which I returned. "It's...it's about Tyler."

At the mention of his name, my ears pricked up, like a horse's when they see food. "What about him?" I said slowly, the words coming out through my gritted teeth.

"I went to go see him earlier today," she started. I listened intently, trying to soak up all of the information I could about the bastard, and when she finished I couldn't believe what I heard. He hit her in the face. That was why her cheek was red and blotchy. Because he fucking hit her. My gaze never faltered from her own and I could feel the anger seep through me like the sun on a hot day. I was steaming because I was so fucking mad. I already had a game plan as to what I would do to him the next time I saw him. Wren must have figured that out because her eyes widened slightly before she laid a hand on my chest. She leaned in closely and murmured, "Harry, you have to promise me you won't do anything to Tyler."
