"Sometimes you will never know the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory."

After releasing her ashes, I sat on the dusty ground and reached in my pocket to pull out her note. It was all crumpled up from being inside my pocket for three hours, but it was still readable.
I unfolded it and read the words she put on paper before committing suicide:
My wonderful Ty,
I am so sorry for this tragedy I have brought upon you; it is nobody else's fault but my own. My heart belongs with you, but it just doesn't belong with life. I've been thinking it over, and this is what I want to do, it's what will make me at peace with myself. You make me so happy, Ty, I never could've asked for a better friend. You were always there when I needed you to be, and believe me when I say that every moment we spent together these past months have meant the world to me. None of this was your fault, Ty, no matter what you think. I'm just so sorry my problems had to become yours. I can't imagine what I'd do if this situation were the other way around. I'm sure I'll be happy wherever I am, but no matter what, don't let our memories fade. We did what we set out to do, and we succeeded. I'm where I want to be now, I hope you can discover something that makes your handsome smile shine brightly (:
Yours truly,
Sky
P.s- I notice how much you look at me, you can't fool me (;
I couldn't contain my tears; they had a mind of their own. They flowed down my face as I re-read the note again and again.
I felt a big relief as I walked away from her that day. I knew there would be hope for me somewhere along the way.
For now, I was grateful for Sky. Without her, I never would've learned how to genuinely live free.
