18 and Pregnant

Chapter 3

I woke up to the site of me laying in a hospital bed with IVs all around me and in me. Hospitals are not my favorite places in the world.

My mom and dad are not in my hospital room and I wonder where they are.

5 minutes later, my brother walks in with a blank expression in his face. Tears start rolling down his face like he's a girl watching a chick flick. He couldn't have found out yet. I know I can cover it up easier than this. He starts to talk in a slow voice,"We thought we were gonna lose you Carls. Your appendix burst, and you had to have it removed. Your a lucky girl." Wait a minute. If I had surgery... WHAT HAPPENED TO MY BABY?? "Who is my doctor?" I asked calmly. "I'll send him it," Chance said calmly. "Hello Ms. Carley. I'm Dr. Allard." "I need to ask you a question Dr. Please don't tell my parents though. I wanna tell them on my own sweet time." "Go right ahead" said Dr. Allard. "Tonight, I found out I was pregnant, and was wondering if she or he survived the surgery." "I knew you'd ask that, and yes your baby survived the surgery. You and your baby are very lucky." I sigh in utter relief and wave at Dr. Allard. Chance came back in the room with a Coke and a 100 piece Starburst bag! (my favorite) "Do you want me to call Lynsi up to the hospital so she can see you?" asked Chance. I nod my head yes. How am I gonna tell Lynsi I'm pregnant ? She'll be shocked. I bet Mark would just leave me like he did any other girl. Why does it have to be his baby? I'm just so furious right now. I see my beautiful best friends face walk the through the door and feel a tight squeeze from her strong arms. Lynsi plays softball for the 96' Elite. They've won Junior Olympic Nationals and many Hall of Fame Tournaments. They're amazing ! She screams " OMG I love you and I'm glad your okay!" "thanks, but I have to tell you something. Chance can you leave the room ?" "Sure thing sis." I clear my throat and look Lynsi straight in the eyes and say, "I'm pregnant."
