(Dan's POV)

The car ride home was silent and I stared out the window low-key wishing I was with Phil again. Once we got home I immediately ran upstairs to my room. I had to find a way to get to Phil's house. My phone buzzed in my pocket and I pulled it out to see who it was.

UNKNOWN NUMBER: Hey Dan it's Jack(:

UNKNOWN NUMBER: yo its dean, remember me?

UNKNOWN NUMBER: Hello Daniel, this is Bertie's number. You gave me your number in Maths today.

Oh yeah, I made a couple of friends today in one of my classes that I don't have with Phil. I ignored them and put my phone back in my pocket. I'll answer to them later when I get back from Phil's. I set my backpack down on my bed and walked to my window. If I ever even get to Phil's.

On the way home from school my mom told me that I had to stay in my room and I wouldn't be getting dinner tonight as part of my punishment for breaking the law and lying to her about where I was going. So I don't have to worry about my mom catching me out, plus I can eat at Phil's. My window didn't provide me with much of a view as there was a giant tree blocking the way. But that tree is exactly what I needed to get to Phil's. I opened the window and looked for a branch to climb on. Before I started my descent I pulled out my phone again and sent a quick text to Phil.

~hey I'm on my way over~

(Phil's POV)

As soon as I got off the bus I ran home again, careful to watch where I was going. If Dan was coming over today I had to make sure the apartment was clean and spotless. But when I open the door I heard Martyn yelling at me. Oh no.

"Philip Michael Lester! I know you took them! Give them back now!" Martyn exclaimed while running into the kitchen. I tried to play it cool.

"O-oh hey Martyn! You're back from work so soon? You should have texted me." I replied with a nervous fake smile. He didn't buy it judging by the glare I got in return. He walked up to me and held out his hand.

"My Ipod and headphones. Give them back to me." He stated in his "I'm-your-brother-but-I'm-still-in-charge-of-you" voice. I opened my mouth to say some excuse or continue playing dumb but instead I sighed and hung my head while pulling them out from my pocket and handing them back to him. He grabbed them from my hand then turned and headed for the door. He opened the door but before he left he turned around. He was still glaring at me but his face softened at my guilty face. He knew I was sorry. "Just, please ask next time okay? I'll see you later."

After he shut the door I slumped against the counter and sighed. Yeah, I deserved that. I heard my phone ding and I pulled it out to see what Dan had said. I know it's Dan because he's the only one that texts me.

~hey I'm on my way over~

Time to panic. 'I just got here! I don't have time to clean the whole apartment! What do I do?' I ran to my room. 'Might as well start here, this is where we will be "hanging" most of the time anyways.' I'm not a messy person, I like to keep my room clean so there wasn't much I could do but there's always room for improvement. As soon as I was satisfied with that I ran to the living room and picked up some garbage Martyn left there. I barely had time to take a breather before I heard another ding from my phone. 'He's here!' I took a deep breath before looking at the text.

~I'm here, uhh which one's yours?~ He was referring to apartments. I never actually told him which one was mine, but then again I never told him where I live. He just said he knew where.

~hang on I'll come down and get you(:~ I hit send and took another deep to calm the nerves that suddenly appeared. 'It's alright Phil, confidence and stuff. Yeah, you got this.'
