I drove home from Bruce's hotel the next morning, and he flew back to Gotham. Everyone knows Superman is alive, but not Clark Kent. But I know the truth. Clark and I were best friends when we were on Krypton. And then he was killed by a deformity. Like really? I got dressed in a blazer and suit pants and arrived at the Daily Planet. "Morning everyone." I stated. "Morning!" Jenny replied. I walked into my office, set my stuff down and sat down at my desk attempting to do work. About 12:30, we heard a rumbling noise. The entire building started to shake, and that's when I noticed General Zod's ship. Oh shit. "EVERYONE GET OUT OF THE BUILDING NOW!!!" I shouted. Everyone started screaming and ran out of the building, me following. We all went down to the streets, as I was running, I tripped and fall just as a steel beam fell on top of me. "H-help me!!!" I cried. "I can't move my legs! I'm stuck!" Bruce hears my cries for help and runs to me. "I'm gonna get you out babe, don't worry. Alright lift!!" He told the other guys that were lifting it. "I-I can't m-move my legs Bruce!!" I cried. "Shit. Get her in a car and drive her to the nearest hospital!" He shouted. "You'll be alright baby." He whispered as he kissed my head. They drove me to the hospital. The nurse said, I'm sorry, Ms. Rae, but we need to amputate." "N-no!!" I sobbed. She nodded her head, sadly. They then put me under. I woke up hours later in a hospital bed. "How are you feeling, Ms. Rae?" The doctor asked. "Sore. What happened?" "Your legs were broken when the beam fell in you and we couldn't save them. There was too much damage. We amputated. I'm so sorry. " I lifted the bed sheet and look down to see that my thighs up were intact, but my calves down were gone. "W-will I be able to walk?" He shook his head. "I'm afraid not. " he said. He left me in peace as Bruce walked in. "I'm so sorry baby. I can't believe you can't walk anymore." He kissed me gently and sat down, holding my hand. "Doctor said I have to use a wheelchair. But whatever." I replied. The doctor then came in, telling me I was alright to go home. "I'll take care of you till you get used to not walking, okay?" I just nodded.
