So it's official. My moms really not coming back. It's so sad. I've been here for 3 weeks. It's really depressing with all the ruble. That I caused. Wait. No. Peeta says that's not true and that it wasn't all me. He's just humoring me. Peeta was supposed to be here by now. He went to go and get Haymitch for dinner. I hear the beep on the oven and know that our meal is ready. I go to take the bread out but something stops me. A piece of mail on the table. It's addressed to me so I open it slowly. My moms careful handwriting tells me that she's going to come back for a visit for a few days in a week. I'm ecstatic with joy as the door opens and Haymitch and peeta pour in.

"Hi," I say clearly distracted.

"What's wrong?" Asks peeta in a worried tone.

"Just a letter," I say waving it in his face.

He grabs it and reads it while he goes to sit down. As peeta reads Haymitch grabs a beer bottle and starts to open it. I give him a dirty look.

"What?" He asks a little too innocently.

"Wow," is all peeta says as he sets the letter on the table.

"Look," announces Haymitch as he takes a swig from his bottle,"I have exciting news."

"And what would that be," I say raising his eyebrows.

"We'll sweetheart," Haymitch slurs, "I found myself a wife and we are going to be married this weekend."

Peeta and I crack up. Haymitch raises his eyebrows. He can't be serious can he? No. Nobody would want to marry Haymitch. Peeta, still laughing, comes over and pulls the bread out of the oven.

" I'm not joking," Haymitch mumbles.

I giggle at the thought of anyone wanting to marry Haymitch. That's impossible.

"Let's eat," peeta grins clearly still amused.

We all Sit down and begin eating our delicious meal made by Peeta. As we eat the news about my mom sinks in. I'm filled with emotions. Happy, confused, and angry that she hasn't come sooner. As I'm pondering the new knowledge there's a knock at the door.
