Lost

I jump at the sound expecting it to be peacekeepers coming to get me. No. There is no more peacekeepers. No Capitol to afraid of. I then make my way calmly to the door. Effie. I smile brightly as I usher her into my home.

"Hi katniss! I'm so sorry to disturb you all!" She says cheerily.

"Anytime Effie," peeta smiles as he rises and goes to greet her.

" I came to stay a few weeks in one of the victors village houses! I just stopped by to say hi and things," she explains.

I invite her to eat and she gratefully accepts. We are all silent as we eat. Me and peeta exchange a few confused glances. Why would she come to the ruins of district 12? Peeta just shrugs and goes back to eating. We finish eating and Haymitch and Effie leave. Peeta stays back to help clean up.

"Thanks," I say as we finish.

"Anything for you," he stares into my olive eyes with his dazzling blue ones.

He pulls me into a hug as he bids me farewell. As he pulls away I kiss him gently. He kisses me back. He just smiles and leaves. I'm about to go shower and notice his jacket is still here. I grab it and start to walk to his house. I knock, and there is no answer. He's probably in the shower. So I open the door and tip toe in. The showers not on.

"Peeta?" I call out.

Dead silence. I begin to panic. Where could he be? I decide on going to check haymitchs house. When he answers the door he tells me he hasn't seen him and slams the door in my face. I sprint back to my house and throw open the door. I go to my counter to look for some clues to his whereabouts. That's when someone grabs me from behind.
