I road my horse like there was no tomorrow. And if I didn't get away there wasn't going to be.
"That way he's heading east!" One of the men behind me yelled. I had my hair up and a bandana around my face.
"Come on Caliber!" I encouraged my animal. I was coming up over a ridge when I saw the town below me. Shit.
Below me laid be small town of Bear Rock.
I shot down the mountain and started going south because I didn't want to make Emma worry. I knew she hadn't been in town for a couple days but that didn't mean anything.
I heard gun shots which made Caliber go faster. I trained this horse since he was a colt. He knew when to go faster and how to run with heavy objects. He was also a special horse. Wouldn't stop on a chase with out a special word.
I chanced a glance to my left to see a certain blonde walking out side the Saloon with a man I despised.
Mr. Gold.
I winked and kept on running.
The next mourning I had finally made it to a small town in Utah. I'd been running all night long and Caliber needed rest. I lost the law when I crossed the border. I had jumped across a ravine, but they couldn't because there horses weren't jumpers.
I slowed down and found a creek. To my fortune there was also trees to cover us.
"Swan-Mills." I whispered. Caliber slowed down before walking to the patch of trees.
I scrambled off of him and stretched my legs. God. Stretching never felt so good. I took the luggage off his back and placed it on the tree. I took the saddle off knowing they won't catch up to me till at least supper time. Caliber went straight to the water before laying down in it. I laughed as I watched him eat the bank grass. I pulled out some rolls I snatched and sat down leaning against the trunk.
I pulled my wedding ring off my belt and admired it.
Emma and I met when I was on a run and both were looking for a good time.
That was when she had a place in
Jackson, Mississippi.
I visited frequently just to see her because from the moment I laid eyes on her I knew she was the one.
I had actually bought our rings legal everything. My father which was dying had married us legally. Because there's no law against it. But of course the documents that say we are married are in our secret cellar beneath the house.
I fell asleep thinking of my wife and a rifle in my hands.
When I woke up it was Caliber nudging me. I knew this meant that we better get going if we want to stay ahead of them.
I had everything ready Caliber stood tall well rested and ready to go. I took out a few carrots and fed them to him. That's when I heard something whistling through the air. I looked up just in time to see an arrow lodge into the tree next to me. I hurried and pulled my bandana over my face and looked at the arrow. It had paper around it. I looked to where the arrow came from. I took a telescope from my coat and looked through it up a mountain to see Emma standing on mountain a couple miles away. Her aim had improved. But then again she's the best archer in the country. It had been nearly two years since I last saw her. I took the paper from the arrow.Damn you. What the hell were you doing? I missed you. But you better get going Gold is a day behind me. I love you.
Ps. Get your ass out of here before I come down there and take it.I smiled and folded it back up, placing it in a pocket on my saddle. I wrote a small letter and placed it on the arrow.
You'll have to catch me first savior. Don't worry you'll have this ass soon. I love you too dear.
I mounted Caliber and kicked him into a gallop.
I rode for hours. Occasionally glancing back to see if I could spot anyone.
It went on like that for a couple months. Every week I would rest a few hours longer than needed just so I could get a glimpse of my blonde. But today was different. I didn't stop. Caliber didn't tell me he wanted to stop so I didn't.
That's when I spotted the border of Mexico. I smiled and got excited. So did my steed because instead of galloping he bolted.
I hadn't been to Mexico in years and I loved that once I crossed the boarder, I was no longer chased by the states. Because it was another country. Plus I blend in well. I speak fluent Spanish.I road for a couple more weeks till I came to Mexico City.
I slowed him down to a trot and trotted into the bussing town. I found an abandoned barn and walked in.
It was big enough for me to hide my things. I took my things to the top level and hide them under the straw up there.
I found a horse blanket and threw it over Caliber. He went to eating the hey that had been there before us. I took my coat off and placed it in an old trunk and took a shawl.
After I made myself look more feminine. Consisting of me braiding my hair down the side and hiding my hat and bandana with my coat.
I kept my gun with me because I never feel safe without it around.
I walked out with some uros and a smirk. Emma wouldn't be able to fallow me across the border if she makes it down there.I was sitting in a Saloon letting a man pay for my meal and a drink.
"So tell me. What is a las like you doing in here?" His accent was from here probably from the states.
"Looking for a meal. You're not from here why are you here?" I asked using my Spanish accent.
"Well running from the law has its perks and its downs." He had blonde hair that was short and a scar on his chin.
"May I ask you what the scare on your chin is from?" I asked curiously. I'm always ready for some one to tell me about their battles.
"This is from my wife. She was attempting to rob me up by New Hampshire." He had a wife new.
"Where is your wife now? And why would a married man but another woman food and a drink?" I teased. He smiled a charming smile that's when I figured out who he was. He must of caught on that I knew because he put a finger up to his lips.
"So you've heard of me and I haven't even said my name." That's when a woman with a pixie cut walked up wearing leather pants, riding boots, teal button up and a black riding coat.
"Charming who's this?" She asked sitting on his lap.
"I haven't gotten her name yet Snow." My confirmation was inevitable.
"So it's true. The outlaws Snow and Charming." I said still keeping onto my accent.
"What's your name." I smiled slightly.
"Cora." Charming looked confused but Snow smiled bigger, before whispering into his ear.
"It's been a long time Cora I didn't recognize you." Snow winked.
"Yes it has been what twenty years? When we where just eight year olds?" I asked keeping my accent.
"Do you have a place to stay? We have a ranch not to far from the city if you would like to stay there." Charming offered.
"I would love too. But I'm being hunted. Mr. Gold." I whispered his name.
"Then we must help you." I smiled.
