Mini's PoV
"Craaaaig! Are we there yet?! I'm so fucking bored! We haven't found anything yet!" My co-worker/best friend, Jonathan, complains as I drag him through the swampy jungle. "I swear... If you say 'Are we there yet?' one more fucking time, I'm going to feed you to whatever animals live in the giant ass forest." I threaten. Jonathan simply giggles. "You know you could never hurt me~ I'm too bootyful!" He announces cheekily. I chuckle and look over at him playfully. "You're right. I could never hurt you, but I'm sure an alligator could~" I tease, earning a smack to the back of the head.
As we walk through the forest, we stumble upon two large, broken pillars with various pictures engraved into the sides. Delirious pulls out his camera while I pull out my journal. He takes a couple pictures as I scribble some notes on what the pictures could mean.
We move on and find what we have been searching for this whole time. I giant building towers over us. The roof is slightly caved in and a few walls have crumbled to the ground. Vines and plants grow around it as if it were some sort of shield protecting the temple from all of the animals and creatures of the jungle. Jonathan stares up at it in awe, snapping several pictures. I write down a few more noted before we move forward.
We walk through the entrance to see more pictures. One was of several people bowing down to five beings. One of the beings had a large pair of owl wings on his back, the words leadership and wisdom written above him. Another had the antlers of a deer, the words balance and innocents written above his head. The next one had a pair of white tiger ears with a tail to match it, the words power and strength written above his head. The last two were monkeys, the words mischief and humor written above their heads. Interesting... I'm guessing these five beings were their Gods.
I scribbled some notes while Jonathan took some pictures before we moved on. We evaded several traps as we made our way through a dark halleway. Jonathan walks ahead of me and walks backwards so he can face me. "Craaaaaaig! I'm boooooored! The last interesting thing we've seen is the hieroglyphics from when we first walked in!" He whines, crossing his arms with a pout.
Damn it Jonathan, watch where you're going!" I scold, but the sound of the ground trembling shuts us both up. I look down to see the ground cracking beneath my friend. "Jon... Don't move." I warn, looking him dead in the eye. "What is it?" He asks before noticing his predicament. "H-Holy shit! Craig! Help me!" He squeals as he stare at the ground with a pale face. "Hold on. Just stay calm. I'm going to try to pull you away from the cracks, but it have to trust me." I say slowly. He simply nods as he takes a few deep breathes to calm himself. I take a cautious step forward, creating more cracks. Shit. I extend my arm to Jonathan. When he goes to grab it, the ground shakes again, which was all the floor needed to collapse from underneath us.
We scream as we plummet to another level of the temple, rocks and rubble falling at our sides. I brace for impact as we near the ground, getting prepared for whatever pain comes next. We both hit the ground with a loud bang, the rubble following soon after.
I groan in pain and slowly sit up, Jonathan following suit. "Ya know... I thought that was going to be ten times worse." He says playfully, rubbing his head. I let out a breathless, halfhearted laugh as I look around. There two hallways sitting side by side, an image above both of them. The one on the left has an owl while the one on the right had an albino tiger. Jon looks over at them and flashes me a smile. "I go left and you go right?" He asks, giving me puppy dog eyes. "No! What if we run into more traps down here! We wouldn't be able to help each other!" I protest. "The hallways are side by side! If we need each other we'll just call. Don't worry about it, Craigy-poo!" Jon argues as he runs into the left hallway. I let out a low, agitated huff before walking towards the right hallway.
I come across a large room with a small showcase-like rock i the middle. On it sat a golden tiger, it's eyes and nose made of diamonds. I walk further into the room just as light shines from the tiger, making the ground shake. So that must've been why all of these random mini-earthquakes have been going on. As the ground trembles, the sound of rocks smashing against the ground sounded from behind me. I turn around to see the door is completely caved in. Fuck... I turn back towards the tiger and shrug my shoulders, walking towards it.
I better take this to David, I'm sure he'll know why this thing is able to do all of this. I reach my hand down to grab it, but just as my hand touches the gold I'm shot backwards into the nearest wall by an invisible force. I go into a coughing fit as I try to clear the fuzziness from my head. The sound of footsteps bounce off the walls as they get louder. They stop in front of me, so I slowly look up to see a dashing man with albino tiger ears and tail. My blood runs cold as he crouches so he's at my level. I begin to shake, unaware of what he may do to me.
He looks into my eyes and gives me a bright smile before pulling me into a hug. I gasp at the sudden movement and raise an eyebrow in confusion. "Thank you so much, kind sir. You've freed me!" He exclaims, his tail wagging back and forth. Wait a second... Hold up! Is this one of the Gods of the temple?!(How's the first chappie??? Do you like it? I hope so :3 Anways, thanks for reading my shitty books~)
