" Hon, tama ba itong ginagawa natin? Magagalit sa'tin si Mika niyan." Alalang sabi ko habang palakad lakad.
" Will you relax, Bhaby?! I have everything under control." Sabi ng asawa ko. He isn't considerate of what others feel. Masyado siyang mapilit and very authoritative. Considering that he is King, no one dares to complain about what he makes people do. Not even us.
" Please don't shout. I was just asking kasi nasasaktan na ako para sa anak natin."
Tinitignan niya ako " She has to do her duty for the country. She has no choice and you are very aware of that fact." He furrowed his eyebrows as he sighs softly.
" Can't we at least give her a little freedom? " I asked. Hoping na pumayag siya at kahit yun lang.
" In one condition." My face lit up when I heard him say those words.
I raised an eyebrow " What is it then? " Manuelito sat up from his chair and walked towards me. " She can go and attend school like a regular person but she still has to do her duty and that is to get married to the price when she finishes college." I just sighed softly. I knew na may kapalit ang lahat.
I nodded my head in response " I guess we'll just keep the marriage thing a secret. I'll just head out." I kissed him on the cheek. " I'm sorry for everything. I Love you both." He said before I headed out the door.
I slowly shut the door closed and I took a deep breath in and sighed. I closed my eyes for a moment. He'll never change his decisions but at least Mika will be able to experience schooling.
I gently knocked on Mika's door and quickly letting myself in after she said yes.
" Hi honey." I said, sitting down on her bed and gently combing her hair using my hand.
" Thank you for spending time with me. I love you." I smiled at her and kissed her forehead. " I have good news for you." I said which made her sat up.
" What is it then? " Mika asked as her eyes twinkle like stars. " You're going to school." I said smiling at her.
" NO WAY! I am?! " She yelled. Excitement evident in her voice as she jumps up and down. " Yes you are." I hugged her tightly.
" I have to tell this to Aly." She yelled happily. " Aly is going to be attending school too but she's attending school at Ateneo and you're attending school at La Salle." I replied.
She immediately frowned upon hearing that she will be far from her best friend.
" Hey, you can still see each other and attend school. Like living a normal life. No special treatments just like what you wanted." I said trying to cheer her up.
" You're right. Thank you guys so much for granting me a little freedom." Mika hugged me which I gladly returned back.
" Okay. You make yourself relax and I have to go and do some important things." I kissed her cheek softly and headed out of her room.
I can't believe that I'll have to keep a secret from my own daughter and it's about her future. I hate seeing her mad and hurt because of us but I had no choice.
I just hope that she will be able to forgive us when the time comes and she finds out about the marriage.
