Chatpter 23

"Yes Adrien." He cupped her cheek.

"Run away with me."

"What?"

"Run away with me. When we get back we'll just pack new bags and then I can get you and we can leave this place."

"Adrien we can't."

"But why not. I love you and I don't want to leave you. I know if I go to America for college I won't come back to Paris."

"Adrien we can't run away. I can't just up and leave my family and friends and neither can you. We just can't."

"You're my only family Marinette. Please just think about it."

"Adrien we can't run away together. I love you and I can't live without you either but running away together isn't the way to show it."

"Marinette." He grabbed her hands and she looked away from him. "If I go to Harvard I know I won't come back. I'll never see you again. Please think about it." He was pleading her.

"Adrien. We just can't. We can't just leave everything behind because of love. You don't have to go to that college. You can go to the one you want to go to and if you don't want to go that's fine."

"But I have no choice. I need to do what he says. Please if we leave we can forget everything and everyone. We'll have each other."

"Adrien." Marinette sighed. She got lost in thought about this. "We just can't. Sure if you leave you'll have to give up your miraculous but you can't leave Paris forever." Marinette held his hand with his ring. "You'll have to come back at some point and when you do I'll be waiting. But you don't need to do what he says. That's not how a real son acts." Marinette laughed the last sentence.

"Even if I say no he'll still send me. Please Marinette he'll tear us apart and I can't lose you." His eyes started to get watery. "Please just think about it."

"Adrien you'll come back and I'll be waiting for you. I can even move to America with you and go to a design school there. Sure I'll still be leaving my family and friends but not just out of nowhere."

"He wouldn't allow you to come with me. I know my father to well. He would send me by myself and have me stay by myself so I can focus on my schoolwork."

"Adrien you don't have to do what he says."

"Marinette." Adrien said in a low tone. "Please just run away with me."

Marinette pursed her lips. If I do then he'll be happy and we'll be together but if I say no he'll have to leave and give up his miraculous. Probably to me. I could buy my own plan ticket to live with him but then I'll miss Paris. I see no downside if I say yes but I have a feeling people are watching and betting on this and I think they put more on me saying no. Wait if people are watching then I just gave him away. Shiiiit. Welp. "Adrien." Marinette cupped his cheek.

"Please Princess." He begged.

"Adrien we just can't. I don't want to lose you but if we really love each other we'll find a way. You don't have to do what he says. You can go to college with me. If he kicks you out because you said no then we can buy an apartment and go to school. If he doesn't give you any money we'll find a way. Love always finds a way."

Adrien let out a sigh of defeat. He knew he wasn't going to change her mind. "Okay Princess." Their lips brushed as he spoke and Marinette pressed her lips to his. they pulled away to catch their breath.

"You should go make sure there are no akuma's." Marinette whispered.

"Okay Princess." Adrien whispered back. "I'll be back soon. Plagg Claws Out." Adrien transformed and kissed Marinettes cheek before leaving the room.

"Marinette you should go to." Tikki pleaded.

"Tikki I can't. He still needs to think Ladybug went somewhere out of Paris for spring break." Marinette held Tikki in her hands.

"You should at least tell him your Ladybug." Tikki grabbed a cookie.

"No. I'm not ready I know he'll be disappointed."

"Girl he's dating you do you really think he'd be disappointed." Tikki laughed as she mimicked Alya.

"You do a great Alya impression." Marinette laughed. "But I know Adrien if he's not disappointed he'll risk his life even more protecting me. I don't want that. He deserves to live just as much as I do. I mean I wanted to do it. Run away with him but then Alya would scold me and Nino would think we did it to have sex twenty four seven but honestly I wanted to do it to get him away from his dad." Marinette fell back onto the bed and Tikki sat on her chest.

"Then why didn't you?"

"Because I can't just leave everyone behind without a goodbye. It isn't right. I love him but running away with each other isn't the right way to show love. I know Adrien and Chat Noir both too well. He never wanted to patrol unless I begged him or he was running away from something. It's not his fault his mom died and Gabriel shouldn't blame him for it." Marinette started crying. "His family life is terrible and I just want to take him away from it."

"Then why didn't you say yes?" Tikki asked.

"I can't just leave everything behind Tikki. It's not right and I know it's not." Marinette cried harder and started pacing around the room. She grew angry at Gabriel and at Adriens family life. She punched the wall leaving a dent since she wasn't that close to it. "Shit! Tikki help me hide this!"

"Why? It's not that big of a dent."

"I see Plagg has rubbed off on you."

"Yep. Cookies." Tikki whined. Marinette rolled her eyes and went back to sleep.
