Chapter 2
Colin’s POV
I was out in the woods with my beta, third in command, and a friend, doing border patrol when I caught the scent of another werewolf. My senses are extremely sensitive when I’m in wolf form. Nothing can hide from me, no matter the distance. Being an Alpha all of you normal senses are more enhanced.
‘Guys, we have company to the west about half a mile away,’ I said through our pack mind link before taking off and heading west.
The guys immediately followed me toward the intruder.
‘Slow down guys. We are going to take it by surprise. Jake, I want you to stay beside me until I give you the order to go; Tyler, you sneak up on the right; Tanner to the intruder’s left,’ I ordered.
‘Alpha, I have Marc and Cameron heading this way too,’ said Jake.
‘Ok,’ I replied. ‘Marc, I’m going to have you behind me in case we need a surprise attack or help and Cameron I want you to sneak up behind the intruder’s back.’
‘Yes, Alpha,’ they both replied.
A few minutes later everyone was in position. I looked out by the lake to see where the intruder was, but all I could see were clothes laying on the ground close to the water. Finally my eyes caught movement in the water and the person was just about to get out of the water until they stopped their movement and looked out into the woods with their senses. I couldn’t tell if this person was male or female but either way they seemed to know what they were doing.
The person opened their eyes and spoke, “What the fuck do you want?” The person was a female and her voice was cruel and harsh. Every word she spoke it seemed to have acid dripping from them.
I growled. How dare she speak to me like that? She was looking right at me. I wonder if it’s just coincidence that she picked me, the Alpha, to stare at.
‘She doesn’t know who you are or what your rank is smart ass,’ Zeb, my wolf, replied.
‘I don’t care, I know she can feel my power and there is no reason why she should be acting this way when she is on my territory!’ I retorted.
Zeb stayed silent.
‘That’s what I thought.’
She rolled her eyes and said, “How about you shift and we talk like normal human beings.”
She did have a point. There is no way we could talk while I was in wolf form. I shifted and pulled on my jeans and black muscle t-shirt that I had tied to my ankle.
I stepped out of the woods and we talked. Some things that were said got a little out of hand but hey what is better than having an argument with a female rogue.
‘Tanner and Cameron, take her down. She’s too cocky for my likings.’ I told them.
Tanner went first, he was immediately taken down. One by one I told my men to take care of her and within a matter of minutes they were all down and she was still standing.
She looked at me, but not meeting my gaze directly. She started to sass back and it was pissing me off.
“You really must be stupid,” I said walking closer to her. I never took my eyes from hers, but she finally looked into my eyes and within seconds I was in front of her thinking I never wanted to let this beautiful woman out of my sight. The woman in front of me had long, blonde hair that seemed to go on forever. Her eyes were grey, but they seemed to have so much life in them. I have never seen grey eyes before. I thought to myself. Anyways this woman’s face was shaped like a heart and it was beautiful. She had long legs and she was perfect! She was impeccable! My wolf is going nuts. Zeb keeps repeating the same word over and over again, ‘Mate, Mate, Mate.’
