Emerald Hospital

11:30pm

Good morning, I am your host Diane Fox. Most are aware of unexpected events that took place yesterday afternoon at Martin High School. It was only a miracle that no one was seriously harmed-" The newscast was interrupted by Avi switching off the TV and throwing the remote to one side.

"Act a little mature will you." His older sister picked up the remote and set it down properly.

"Fuck off will you." Avi snapped back.

"Avi shut up." Avi's mother sighed with stress.

Avi's family had came to see him about an hour ago. It was said that he and the others could be discharged later on in the day. His family was kind of dysfunctional. In actuality, nobody cared about Avi. They were forced to come because Avi was only 17 and steel needed a guardian. Both parents were focused on and favourited Esther his older sister. She had the best grades and was practically a golden girl. Whereas Avi was the delinquent who smoked pot all day and didn't care about life.

His father came storming in. "They said they can't discharge you for another hour. For fuck sake Avi, I have a meeting to get to. Why can't you just be a normal kid!?" He kicked his foot against the wall in anger.

"I'm supposed to be in University making mom and dad proud but your stupid ass can't stay out of trouble can you?" Esther crossed her arms.

Avi would always get shit on to the point where he honestly didn't care anymore. He just wished he had a cigarette in his hand to take away all the stress. The bickering continued left right and centre and Avi gave no fucks at this point.

"Urg will you guys ever give it a rest. Just STOP." Avi groaned angrily while burying his head into his hands and squeezing his eyes shut.

Suddenly there was no sound. Everything just went silent. Did they actually listen to him for the first time in his life?

"Thank you!" Avi lifted his head back up.

"HOLY SHIT!!" Avi jumped.

To his surprise, everything stopped. He scanned over the scene before him. His sister pointing her finger straight at Avi while her tensed eyebrows sat over her narrowed eyes.

His mother sitting across the room reading a year old newspaper hoping for time to pass. And his father standing, facing away and digging his hands into his hair preparing to go mental.

"H-How did this happen?" Avi's heart raced.

"Oh my God. Oh my God..." He jumped out of bed walking around and poking their still bodies.

Avi honestly didn't know what to think of this. It was just so... weird. His heart was really starting to hurt now and it was getting harder to breathe. He looked outside and all the birds, cars, dogs, people had just...stopped. It was the strangest thing Avi had ever encountered and he was incredibly frightened.

"Oh my God!" Avi yelled and ran out of the hospital room. Down the hall had the same result. Everything was still. Doctors, nurses, patients, the whole lot!

Avi surprisingly heard a voice.

"HELLO! NEW GUY!" Kirstie was at the other end of the hall calling for him.
