Martin High School

Kevin tapped his pen rhythmically against his hard wooden desk in an act to consume his boredom. He was curious to know how everyone else was coping with their newly found power. Kevin refused to use his. The power of healing was simple a huge responsibility, and due to his faith, he thought it was morally wrong to imitate god. If anything, he wanted to forget about the whole experience.
Lost in all his thought, he didn't realise that the teacher had called on him for an answer.

"Kevin...?" She stood there.

"Huh?" Kevin shook back to reality.

"Forget it." She sighed remembering that he was one of the people who got into the accident.

She continued to teach while Kevin hung his head down with embarrassment. Suddenly the whole room froze, startling Kevin. He looked behind and saw Avi chilling with his feet up, with a blunt hanging off the side of his mouth. Pulling out a lighter, he sparked it up and blew out a mass of smoke.

"What the hell are you doing Avi?!" Kevin yelled.

"Chill out... relax, I know you need it." He laughed, puffing on his blunt.

"You can't just use your power any time you want!" Kevin scooted out of his chair and approached him.

"Oh come on, just a five minute break. I'm tired, you're tired, we're tired." He smirked.

"I-It's not right..." Kevin crossed his arms and took a stern tone.

"Miss Francis called on you for an answer and you completely blanked out. Despite being black you were practically going red." Avi laughed, puffing out smoke. Kevin was starting to realise how much of a delinquent Avi actually was. His heart was in the right place but he clearly was a fucked up kid.

Avi stood up and walked over to Kevin. Patting his shoulder, he looked up at him with his green bold eyes.

"You're a good guy, I respect that. Problem is... I'm not." Avi chuckled, blowing smoke into Kevin's face.

Kevin fanned his face, watching Avi walk out of the classroom.

"W-Wait! Where are you going now?! You can't just leave it like this." Kevin called out.

"I'm just gonna go on a stroll. I'll be back...soon." He laughed and disappeared.

This is something Kevin did not want, everyone using their powers to their advantage because it was just wrong. All of this tackled with his religion and he was very uncomfortable with it. Not sure of what to do he slowly slipped back into his chair looking around nervously at the frozen scene before him.
Avi walked down the hall when suddenly he heard subtle mumbles coming from the closet. Since everyone was frozen he knew it had to be someone from the explosion gang.

"Hello?" He called out.

The mumbles grew louder, in a desperate way to respond but being restrained to. Hearing this, Avi fumbled with the door trying to open it but it wouldn't budge. On the count of three, Avi swiftly barged his elbow into the door causing it to swing open. He had clearly done this before.
He stood there shocked to see a heavily bleeding Kirstie tied up in the deep end of the closet. Pacing towards her, he gently removed the tape around her mouth.

"Holy shit Kirstie, tell me everything now." He caressed her face.

"It was Mitch!" She broke down into tears.

"M-Mitch? You mean...like..?"

"YES! MITCH! That son of a bitch stabbed me in the leg, fucking tied me up and left me to rot. I'm gonna fucking die Avi, I swear to god I'm getting weak." Kirstie rambled crying hysterically.
