Fear: Chapter 3

All three of us are hiding under the stair case. It's really dark in there. Hopefully someone finds a light, so that we could look around. Patchy started crawling to the darker corner of the staircase. She found a lantern and crawled back. We didn't have any matches to light it up. Marisa turned to Patchy "we need to find matches."

Both Patchy and Benno heard the advice. They silently told Marisa to be quiet because we could still hear their footsteps along the hall. A sound of a plate smashed against the floor. The sound seemed to be coming from the kitchen. The caretaker Richard started to talk to Linda "Where are those rats. We told them to clean the entire place up and it still looks disgusting."

Linda aggressively replied "We could just punish them."

"First we need to know where they are."

"They are probably just hiding again."

Patchy kept on crawling around looking for matches. Patchy looked at me and gently spoke "The matches aren't here. I think the matches are upstairs in Linda's and Richard's room. Maybe I will sneak out for a bit."

"Not right now. Once they go downstairs you can go."

Marisa agreed with Benno's statement.

We started hearing footsteps again. Linda seemed to go down to the basement. She was probably going to find a whip or something. We heard Benno chewing so he's distracted by food.

Marisa said "Patchy go now." Patchy pushed the door open slowly and crawled her way up there. She forgot to close the door. Benno was the closest to it so he closed the door for us. Once the door was closed; he sat beside Marisa and gently cried onto her shoulder. Marisa didn't know why he was crying, so her being the savage that she is, she pushed Benno off right off her shoulder. She pushed him so hard that he hit the floor. Opps she thought. Richard finished eating and he heard the noise. he thought it was coming from the basement, so he went down there.

Good. Now both of them are away from us.

Very light sounding footsteps came from the stairs. It was probably Patchy, however we aren't too sure yet. The footsteps started to change into thumps and booms. Patchy fell down the stairs and started to tumble all the way down. She crawled to the door and stared her eye directly to through the key hole. That is definitely Patchy. Marisa opened the door for her. Now that everyone is safe we can close the door. "Patchy did you find the matches."

"Yes. There are only 3 matches left."

"That's okay."

Marisa took the matches from Patchy's hand and rushed the match across the box.

"Ohh. That's a pretty flame."

She put it inside the lantern. The room is bright enough for us to looks around. Benno started to scavenge. He found alcohol and lots of it. Marisa found a card game, and Patchy stayed there looking all blank eyed again. Marisa continued to look. She found clothing and accessories. "Hey guys. Look at this. If we make our selves look cute enough, maybe someone would adopt ..."

Benno interrupted "Do you really think someone will adopt us. Even if someone wanted to, Linda and Richard would never allow it. They want to keep us trapped in here. Our pain keeps them entertained."

Marisa listened to what he said, "We will have to escape. Eventually. Not too sure when or how, but we can do this."

Patchy stared at Marisa with her blank face "Should we fall asleep here? I'm getting tired."

"Okay."

Marisa kept and looking around. It was fun to look around and adventure. She could feel the cold wood against her knees and hands.

Benno and Patricia fell asleep beside each other. Marisa started to think that Patchy was stealing her boy, so she grabbed his arm and pulled him away from Patchy. Marisa stood up and laid down right over Benno's head. And that is how they all fell asleep, against the cold wooden floor.
