It was quiet. Very, very quiet. A little too quiet. After the rainstorm, things have begun to peek out of their holes and hideouts. The Clans, though, had a mystery to face. Why did the rainstorm happen during the Gathering? Was it a sign from Starclan? Did they anger them?

Firestar, a member of Starclan, didn't know the answer to these. Even though he thought he should. He sat in the middle of the dusty clearing. The dust and dirt had turned to wet, and warm mud. Firestar padded in circles for a bit, then realized something.

The Fazcats hadn't come out from hiding. Probably because they weren't hiding. They were scattered.

Firestar tensed. Something was wrong, very, very wrong. He had no clue what to do, so he did the one thing his gut told him to do. He went out and looked for them.

Firestar jumped over fallen logs from the storm, he turned in circles to avoid the debris from the storm, and he ducked under low-hanging branches. He skidded to a halt, looked around, and saw something under the cover of a bush.

Firestar padded a little closer, crouched, then realized it was a cat.

He gasped, ran to the bush, cleared away some of the branches, and tried to drag out this cat. He looked over the cat, and knew this was Goldenblaze. "Goldenblaze...what happened..." He whispered, then jumped as the body twitched, then lay still again.

What the heck was that? Firestar sniffed Goldenblaze's muzzle, and then jumped again as Goldenblaze sneezed. Firestar exhaled softly. Goldenblaze was alive.

Goldenblaze looked really dazed. "Goldenblaze? Are you okay?" Firestar asked, trying to groom his fluffed out fur.

"I-I thi-think so," Goldenblaze stuttered, trying to stagger to his feet. "I kind of had a-" He realized who was talking to him, and his eyes widened, "Firestar!"

"I'm here, you don't need to worry," Firestar mewed, then tilted his head, "You're acting really weird, after you've been stuck in this storm. What happened?"

"Let's just say water has a...strange affect on me," Goldenblaze sneezed again, then blinked his weary eyes. "I could hope the others got away from the storm."

Firestar looked around, and nodded. "They got away in time." He remembered seeing the Fazcats sprint to a little abandoned fox burrow, and also remembered seeing Goldenblaze wasn't with them. He had gotten worried. But he had found Goldenblaze among the debris of the storm. It had gotten more intense than Firestar thought it would be.

He helped Goldenblaze up, and the two of them made their way towards the fox burrow. The other Fazcats were moving around in there, letting out news of nervousness, panic, unease, and worry. "Hurry on in there," Firestar said. Goldenblaze stumbled forward, and looked back at him, twitching an ear and tail of thanks, before going into the burrow, where the mews got louder and more of relief and joy. Firestar watched them a moment more, before moving back into the foliage.

Darn. Sorry for the delay Internet went down, that's why I am posting a bunch of chapters at a time. Yeesh. I guess that's alright. Anyways, you know the drill. Tell me your favorite moment so far, and keep in watch for the next poll. I will announce the poll winners when I get to the part of Softspirit's kits arriving. So yeah. See you later!
