A Tired Soul

I was sitting up late one night,

When I wondered why.

Why was I up at this time?

Why was I not asleep?

My mind told me,

You want to read!

My heart,

It said,

You lust for adventure!

My sense,

It seemed,

Wished for me,

Go to sleep!

I sat there feeling wounded,

How could my mind say,

You want to read!

When it had consumed one book already?

How could my heart say,

You lust for adventure!

When my body was too tired to stand?

How could my sense say,

Go to sleep!

When it knew my mind was racing?
