The Day Arrives

I am almost home. Levy is still hidden in my cart, just incase someone passes us. Not that it will matter, at sunset. By then, she'll be long to Gajeel, in the eyes of the empire. I intend to help them, in any way I can. That includes inviting the regiment for the ceremony. They should be there, later, giving us some time to prepare.

Just then, a lady appears from the ground. She has short, pink hair and a servants costume. She say, "Young master, I was sent by my holder to give you a message. There is an army surrounding the fortress. She fears they are there for Levy and you. She wants to go, but she feels ill."

"Are there any details about who they might be? A royal seal or crest?" I ask. The woman disappears down the hole and returns with a piece of paper.

"This is the mark they bare." The woman hands me the paper. Unfolded, the paper holds the mark of Fairy Tail.

"Tell Lucy that I'm almost home. Those people are there for the wedding," I announce. She bows and disappears, again. Levy peaks out of the mattress. Her hair is messy from the nights escape and I'm sure she slept through the night.

"Fairy Tail beat us? They must have set out when you came to get me." I nod in agreement and explain that they weren't supposed to be there until the afternoon and were told not to leave, together. Small groups, maybe, but not the whole regiment at once. I pick up speed and jog the rest of the way home.

Now, at the edge of the forest, I can see all of my friends gathered for the wedding. The all meet me and offer help. Elfman, my enormous, manly friend, offers to take the cart, but gets a real surprise when Levy pops out. Everyone crowds around her, to congratulate her on the engagement. Meanwhile, a notice Erza on the edge of the group and grab her shoulder.

"Jet and Droy don't know aboutnthis, right? They aren't here?" I mutter. Erza shakes her head, ever so slightly. "Great. I have some business to attend to, inside. Gajeel, Gray, and Juvia should be around in a bit. If anyone spots Jet, Droy, or guards, send Levy to my room, but make sure she isn't seen." My commander nods and returns to the celebration.

I enter my room with the matress. Mira helped me carry it up the stairs and is going to stitch it up for me. I pull Levy's bag out of it and set it by the door. Lucy walks over to me and gives me a quick kiss. This causes Mira to squeal and start bombarding Lucy with questions.

"Mira, Mira, calm down," I chuckle, watching Lucy's eyes start to spin. "This is Lucy Heartfillia, my companion. She's not feeling very well, so you might want to take it easy." Mira stops talking and smiles at Lucy.

"Terribly sorry, Lucy. I'm Commander Mirajane Strous, but you can just call me Mira; everybody does." The commander shakes Lucy's hand. Then, she notices the keys on one of the boxes. "Are you a Celestial mage? Those are super rare, now a days. The last one I remember hearing about was... Oh, what was it? Lillian Hartford? Lola Pedophilia?"

"Layla Heartfillia. My mom. I'm sorry to say that she's been dead for years," sighs Lucy. I wipe the tears from her eyes and pull and arm around her.

"Yes! That's it. I'm awfully sorry for bringing that up, Lucy. I heard about the murder and your disappearance. Where have you been?"

Stuttering a bit, Lucy answers, "A f-few town's over, under an assumed name. I was at least able to keep her keys. They're all I have left of her." Mira offers a quick, but meaningful, hug.

"Anyways, away from such sad subjects on a day of celebrating, what seems to be troubling you? Natsu mentioned you were ill?" Lucy nods and tells her the symptoms. Mira giggles a bit. "This might sound a bit personal, but have you two had sex yet?" I nod, wanting to get the answer fast, incase it's serious. "It's quite simple, then. It appears that you have gotten Lucy, here, impregnated. Congratulations, Natsu." I hug Lucy, tightly, and place my hand on her belly.

"I have to go, Luce. I have to start setting up for the ceremony and party, afterwards. There's plenty of tents to be pitched and a better room, away from ours, for the newly weds, to be set up," I announce. I kiss Lucy's forehead and head out to help the guild prepare.

After some time, Gajeel and the Fullbusters arrive. They're warmly met and Gajeel is given many congratulations. I tell him the directions to his new room, in the fortress. He nods, laughs, and makes a joke about hoping it's soundproof. We laugh and he leaves to finish his preparations and to send a prayer to Venus, for good measure. Gajeel isn't the religious type, but it was a request from Levy.

It take most of the day to set up, but was done, with time to spare, because of Fairy Tail. At lunch, I brought Levy up to see Lucy and tell her the good news. She was ecstatic. Then, we all head down to introduce Lucy to everyone.

"Hellooooo, Fairy Taaaaaail!" I yell. The respond with a yell of their own. "We're all here for one reason. To party for the sake of our comrads, Gajeel and his mate, Levy, getting married. This is also a great opportunity for us to celebrate each other and for you all to meet Lucy, my mate." The congregation goes wild at the announcement. They raise a mug of ale, Cana's treat, to the four of us. This is one of our finest moments.

(I was able to end the chapter with 1000 words, exactly. Also, I use running titles for the chapters and forgot about it, so this chapter was almost published 'Shit Hittith Yond Fan.')
