                              Scorpius's POV

"Alright class, who can tell me what Amortentia is?" Professor Lillywood smiled as she proposed this question to the potions class. We, the Slytherins, have double potions with Hufflepuff after lunch. My stomach was still grumbling even after eating 3 sandwiches and my lips felt soft from the makeout session with Albus under the tree by the lake.
Albus's hand shot into the air. There he goes again, the little smartass boy I'm in love with.
"Yes, Mr. Potter?" Professor Lillywood said.
"Amortentia is the most powerful love potion in the world. It smells different to each and every person, according to what attracts them and what they love most." Albus smiles after he says this. His eyes crinkle and small dimples appear on his cheeks. I resist the urge to rush across the dungeon room and kiss him right there.
"That's right, Albus. 10 points to Slytherin. Today we are going to be investigating Amortentia. I brewed up a batch this morning, and I'd like everyone to smell it and describe what you smell. Then break up into partners, turn to page 364 in your textbook and it will give you instructions on how to concoct Amortentia. Got it? Everybody please line up."
I glanced over at Albus as the class divided into pairs and chattered as they made their way into a line in front of a silver cauldron on Professor Lillywood's desk. He weaves through our classmates and makes his way over to me. Albus grabs my hand sneakily as we get in line behind the Amortentia. I give his hand a squeeze and lean into his shoulder closing my eyes and breathing in a scent. His scent. I think I knew exactly what I was going to smell in the Amortentia.
Soon it's my turn to take a whiff of the potion. Georgia Bell says she smelled chocolate, Christmas trees, and her mothers perfume. Isaiah Zambini said he smelled fire, freshly cut grass, and his girlfriends laundry detergent. Arabella Shaw said she smelled fresh baked cookies and her dog.
I walk up to the cauldron and put my face near the fumes and breathe in through my nose.
I feel Albus's presence behind me. He puts his hand on the small of my back as I lean over the concoction. I hesitate as many smells enter my senses.
"Lavender. I smell lots of lavender." I smile. Albus keeps a small pouch of lavender under his pillow. When my nightmares come,
I crawl into bed next to him, he holds me and I smell the lavender from under his pillow. It's where I truly feel safe and secure and warm with the love of my life.
"Also.. Pine trees." I stand up from the potion and turn to face Albus. The rest of the class is working on brewing Amortentia and Professor Lillywood is watching over carefully.
"When we sit together under the tree by the lake Albus." I whisper softly. "You read to me and I trace my fingers through your hair. Your head rests in my lap and I smell pine all around us."
Albus glows and I turn back to the potion. I smell one more time and turn back to Albus.
"The first day we met. On the train. You were eating a corned beef sandwich."
Albus laughs "Those are disgusting. Is that really what you smell? Good god Scor, I would've hoped the last thing you smell would be something at least tolerable."
I smile softly.
"It was the day I met my best friend, the best day of my life. Babe. Corned beef sandwiches may be disgusting but it's how we met. It's very dear to my heart." I smile and embrace Albus in a hug.
