*a week later*

' you should be able to walk soon' the nurse had told me just a few minutes ago ' treatment has gone perfectly' she said with a smile as she had left the room. soon, I thought,  soon.

although there were lees now, there were still a lot. everyone keeps asking me questions, so many questions. a lot  of the time they are the same, "what happened?" , "howd you survive?", "why wont you talk?". I haven't answered a single one. especially the last one, I mean do you honestly think if I'm not talking I will answer you?!. the only person ive said anything to is mark, sav's fiancé. when they first wheeled me through the hospital after the acciendent mark was out in the hall crying as the nurses comforted him. there was no room in emergency and they had to take me upstairs, in the few seconds as I was stuck on the stretcher as the doctors waited for the lift I looked to mark, and muttered, sorry.

"hey aria" said carter, my brother and only family since my parents died 16 years ago when I was only two and carter five.

"hi" I said speaking for the first time

"you can speak!"

"of course I can sspeak but I I can also choose if I wwant to"

"I'm glad you finally chose to" carter said, laced with sorrow

"i guess I'm glad too" I said, speaking the truth

"welcome back aria hailey jones" carter announced

" thankyou carter evan jones" I replied jokingly. smiling for the first time all week.
