"So how about sight seeing today, there is a lot of Museums, Restaurants and Parks around. Wouldn't that be fun girls"

"Say hey Snap chat" I faced to camera to Jess who was eating her breakfast. She smiled.

"Whats up Snap, We is in New Yooooork" she dragged out the York, making us both laugh.

We were currently in the Kitchen. My Mum had made us Bacon and waffles and we were thinking off what to do today. Of course my mother didn't know about the list. So today we were thinking of going to Times Square for shopping to tick that off on our bucket list.

"How about Times Square?" I asked. My mother shook her head.

"We have plenty of time for Times Square girls, lets just settle for something relaxing today" she took a sip of her drink." We could have a picnic at Central park"

" Sure, Lets have a picnic. It will be so much fun" I said rolling my eyes.

"With that attitude I'm sure being stuck here all day would be sooo much better Mackenzie, would you like that?"

"Nope, she's good" Jess answered for me. She gave me a 'Don't ruin it' look before turning back to my mother. "The park sounds fun"

My mother smiled and told us we have an hour and a half to get ready.
I changed into a tight black shirt and denim shorts with white converse and threw an over-sized denim jacket on top. I put my hair in a ponytail and grabbed my phone and hand purse. Jess wore Cropped grey hoodie, with black jeans and with some silver and white superstars.
Her hair was plaited into two corn rows. I went to my vanity to apply concealer and mascara. I then applied a rose pink lipstick which was a bit darker than my natural lip colour. Jess went for a bronze, gold eyeshadow look with dark brown lipstick. She left her skin face coverage free, since she was blessed with clear skin. We took a few selfie before heading downstairs.

My mum had a picnic basket in her hand and her bag in the other. My dad had his camera Equipment and notebook in his hand. We went inside his Black range rover and headed to the much dreading central park.

When we arrived in the Park. It was a less crowded than we thought, but we were here at 11 am so I'm guessing it would be more crowded in the afternoon. We sat down at a spot with a bench not far behind us and started unloading the picnic basket. I took a packet of skittles and started picking out the red ones. I think most of us can agree that the red skittles are the best skittles. I sighed as I looked through my camera roll.
My parents where talking when Jess leaned over and whisper to me.

" How bout we go 'check out the park' while your parents are getting all lovey dovey" she smirked. I look over at my parents who were laughing at some joke then nodded in agreement.

" Hey mum, me and Jess are just going to check out the park". She immediately shooed us away continuing in with her conversation.

We walked untill we reached the pond which was further away from my parents. Jess was looking around frantically.

"What are you doing" I asked, clearly confused.

"Looking for cute guys" she said bluntly. She looked around for a while then a wide smile spread across her face."bingo" she was about to walk over when I grabbed her arm, stopping her.

"Your not seriously going over are you" I looked over at the guy she had her eyes on who was talking to someone I suspected was his friend. He had black hair and he was about 6 feet tall, He was wearing a blue shirt and black jeans with some tan yeezys. Whereas his friend was the exact opposite sporting blonde hair and was about the height of a tall dwarf who was wearing khaki shorts and a white top. If Jess was going for Mr. good-looking over there, there was no way in hell I will go for the best friend. I just don't play that game.

"Yeah, why not it's just for this summer anyway. It's not like I have full interest" she began to walk over. I watched as she started chatting him up with his friend standing awkwardly 1 feet away. I realised she was already one step ahead of me when they exchanged phones. They both smiled at eachother then hugged before she made her way over to me.

" I guess I have a fish in the hook" she said laughing. " He was so easy, I almost wanted to reconsider". I frowned. This was completely unfair. I had the confidence level of bambii while she was raised by lions.

"What did he say" I asked, curious to see how she got this guy.

" Well I just walked over and we was like 'hey I'm Jessica what's up' and he was like ' nothing much just chilling with my cousin' " oh so that was his cousin.

" Then he goes ' my names Grayson by the way' so I got straight to the point and was like ' we should hang out sometime if that's cool with you ' and he says ' yeah that would be great' then we exchanged numbers" she finished, smiling.

"You make asking a guy out seem like 1+1"

"I've been practising since primary. And I have 2 older brothers".

"Whatever, we should head back" I said. I turned around to leave when I suddenly felt an ice cold feeling connect with my shirt.
