"Whatever, we should head back" I mumbled. I turned around to leave when I suddenly felt an ice cold feeling connect with my shirt.I looked up slowly in disbelief away from the vanilla icecream that was smeared all over my attire.
"SHIT! Im incredibly sorry. I didnt see you there". A tan boy with dark hair stood in front of me. He face was apologetic as he stared back at me, waiting for a reaction.
" M-my shirt" I know it was incredibaly stupid to point out something that we were all very much aware of, but this was one of the last things I would ever expect to happen to me.
"Daniel! Did you get the icecre-" We all turned to the petite dark haired girl who looked almost identical to this daniel dude in front of me.
For a short while there was a silence." Well this is awkward" Jess butted in." I'm Jessica by the way nice to meet you". The girl held her hand out for Jess to shake. Jess simply ignored it and went in for a hug instead. As usual, Jess was a verified embracer.
"Im Mariah, and this clumsy dude over here is Daniel". She replied awkwardly.
Did anyone seem to forget that I'm standing here with icecream all on my shirt!
"No mean to kill the vibe or anything, but now isnt the time to get to know eachother and plan future outings. My shirt is ruined...". The attention seemed to go back to my black shirt with a nearly faded white stain.
"I have a spare shirt in my bag if you want it" Daniel offered."No its fine, I cant take it".
" No, I insist."
"Okay". I watched him jog over to a small group of people nearby.
"So... whats your name" Mariah asked me.
"Makenzie" I answered half heartedly. Jess gave me a look, and I knew she wanted me to at least put some effort into being friends with these people. I rolled my eyes in return.
" So are you from New York?" Ill at least try to get to know them.
" Yeah, born and raised" Mariah replied. "How about you guys".
Jess was first to answer.
"We are from London"I was starting to get impatient as the ice cream stuck to my skin. Just then Daniel arrived grasping onto a white shirt with the familiar supreme logo inprinted on it.
"Thanks" I mumbled, as He handed me the shirt.
"I really am-" he started.
"No. It's fine". He nodded his head and focused his attention else where. What!? The nerve! I'm pretty sure when a girl says it's fine, it's not actually fine."So where are you guys heading to ?" Mariah asked. Looking from me to Jess.
"We are actually just hanging around. Wouldn't be right to come to New York and not have been to Central Park" Jess answered.
I tried to look everywhere but at Mariah and Daniel, But they kept including me in the conversation. I finally decided I would head back to my parents because this friendship really wasn't going to happen at the moment.
"Yeah add me on Instagram and we could talk it about it there" Daniel suggested. "Maybe you could meet the rest of my friends".
"We would love to" Jessica took the scrap of paper with Daniel and Mariah's Instagram names and wrote hers on his phone.
He attempted to hand me his phone but I quickly and kindly declined.
