"Love at First Sight"
I do not believe
In love at first sight.
Love appears slowly –
Not by a wander
Of the naïve eye.
What one feels is not
Instantaneous
Love, but affection
Of the physical
And material.
Like a forbidden
Fruit, one can expect
A bite – rejection –
Upon the heart's flesh;
It's a winless fight.
I do not believe
In love at first sight.
Please remember this:
To truly love is
To know another's soul.
