Do You Know?
Do you know
what it's like to wish
you could love someone?
Do you know
how it feels to find yourself
incapable of understanding
if the ache inside your bones
is fear
or what they call love?
What if
I will never be ready
to share my heart with another,
to bend back the skin and bones
of my ribcage and reveal
what's beneath: only a heart,
which doesn't know how
to love.
Am I infatuated?
Or am I too afraid
to pull myself away?
