After a scrumptious meal at the café, I decided to walk around for a while, until my feet started slightly aching. I spotted a bench and smiled in relief.

I sighed at the beauty of it, and then I remembered the lie I told this morning.
'Fuck.' I muttered under my breath. Where the hell am I gonna find someone willing to–
And then the idea hit me.
I eagerly whipped out my phone from my bag and scrolled through my contact list. Thank God, I didn't delete his number. Let's just hope he didn't get a new phone or number...
I pressed the call button and held my phone to my ear.
One ring. Two rings. Three rings. Fou-
'Hello?' his deep baritone answered.
'Laurent.' I breathed. 'I need a favor.'
'Well, hello to you too, Emilia.' he greeted wryly.
I sighed. 'I'm sorry.'
'It's okay. What's wrong?'
'I need you to be my boyfriend tonight.' I admitted and bit my lower lip in angst.
My heart hammered erratically, when he took more than a few beats to answer. 'Laurent?' I asked, to ensure he was still on the line.
He sighed. 'Em... I don't know. I don't think I can do this for you. I'm sorry.'
My stomach churned at the thought of having to admit to Ace that I didn't have a boyfriend. 'It's okay.' I tossed my hair over my shoulder. 'I get it. Have a good day, Laurent. It was good talking to you.'
'You too, Emilia. You, too.'
And then the line went dead.

'So where are we going for our date?' Ace asked with a teasing tone, from the kitchen when I walked back into the apartment.
