Chapter 5

Hayley's POV

*BANG* i jump almost 3 feet into the air it felt like. I walk to my door, its was 3:00am. I see Annie and she looked at me, i shed a tear. We both run to the edge of the stairs when our dad walks out of the house with a suitcase in his hand. He gets into his car and drives off. I look up at Annie who was in tears then i began to cry. We were both crying and overly tired so we fell asleep at the stairs.
-next morning-
Winnie came running to the stairs and woke us up. All the dogs were upstairs which they never are. We look at each other scared and walk down the stairs. "Be careful" Annie tells me. I look at her then look at the ground, there is glass everywhere. The refrigerator is open, all the food in the pantry is on the floor. There was broken picture frames everywhere, all the pictures were of Caleb or had Caleb in them. I start crying. We look in our parents room and see paper torn everywhere and our mom was sleeping. I pick up pieces of torn paper and put them together, my heart felt like it dropped 5 feet and then shattered. The torn up paper, was Caleb's birth certificate. Annie looked at me then at the paper. I look up at her then run to my room and Annie follows me. I grab my suitcase and pack all my stuff. "What are you doing" Annie asked me concerned "im done, im leaving" i tell her "WHAT YOU CAN'T!" She shouts and i turn to her and we are face to face "i know mom did this and i am not staying in a house with this devil lady" i say grabbing my bag and running downstairs. I open the door and look at Annie, she was crying. I turn around and run...

Annie's POV

She ran...she ran so fast in fact that i could not have stopped her, even if i tried. "Hayley..." I say slightly so only i can hear. "I tried" i hear and i turn around, its Caleb. "Huh?" I ask walking towards him "i tried to help her become herself but something like this, i knew would put her over the edge" he said to me "you saw this coming...?" I ask sadly "how could you not, they were always fighting and when they weren't it was because dad was out hiding and mom was with you so Hayley just sat around crying" he told me "caleb i-" "ANNIE?!" I hear someone yell which make Caleb disappear, it was my mom... "Yes?" I ask "Annie..." She said crying and hugging me. I was really shocked and confused. Then she totally switched gears "GO TO YOUR ROOM YOU NO GOOD BRAT!" Totally pissed i yell at her "I am 18 damn it, i am a legal adult you can not just yell at me and tell me to go to my room." "THEN START ACTING LIKE AN ADULT!" She screams at me then slaps me. I run up to my room "Annie wait!!" She yells but i keep running.
